Each year, we go on vacation as a large family group, and with several younger children have specific requirements when travelling abroad. We have found some lovely locations in the Peloponnese region of Greece, but this time wanted to try something different. We need rooms for four family groups, two of which have more than two children so this rules out many hotels which can only accommodate four in a room. The accommodation also needs to be safe and secure, so we can enjoy evenings too, which steers us towards smaller boutique hotels rather than crowded resorts. Then with 17 of us, requirements start to get more complex; near town, near shops, near a good choice of restaurants, and near beaches. Some with car, and some without. After searching almost all of Southern Europe for somewhere different we found Talos Luxury Suites which seemed to match our requirements. I'll now review and provide information for future visitors which would have helped us. Accommodation: Talos Luxury suites was perfect. Very well laid out with only seven apartments some on the ground floor (including the family suite) and two up shallow stairs. The pool area is fantastic , I was worried the pool might be too small, but it was great for all ages and we often had 10 or more in the pool at the same time with ease. There are a good number of sun beds, sun shades, and quieter cabana area away from the pool. Glass and food is not allowed in the pool area, but this was fine and we went back to the apartment to cook which gave us some shade time. The oven and hob are good quality and it was easy to cook for large groups. There could be some more utensils, but each apartment had a panini maker, toaster, and coffee machine using Nescafe-type pods. We were pleasantly surprised to find at the end of the apartments a lovely courtyard garden that was safe and secure for evening drinks. The beds were comfortable and rooms easily cooled by the air-conditioning. Each room had smart TVs with a variety of apps to log into. The rooms were made every two days, and beds were made daily. Bathroom towels and pool towels were provided. Chania airport is 15 mins away, but there is no issue with the noise of planes flying over. You are also treated daily to the F16 fighter jets which fly out of the area. Although there is no restaurant or bar, food and shopping can be delivered and there are some excellent restaurants nearby. Location As mentioned by other reviewers, the apartments are on a corner of a somewhat busy road. Nothing noisy, but there are no pavements and some drivers go fast - at night it helps to use the phone torch so drivers know you are there. As other reviews have pointed out, there is indeed a hill to climb to go into town, but it takes about 5 mins to get to the crest, and then another 10mins into Kounoupidiana. We did this walk regularly with children aged 7 to 16. There are plenty of supermarkets, the closest being a 10 min walk up the hill, and a Hypermarket a little

From the first interaction to the last, the accommodation offered us kind and quick service. Truly one of the best hotels on our trip to Greece this year. Mariana communicated perfectly. It was like we were the only people there! So private! The apartment was amazing. Very clean. My son loved the shower in the bathroom!the pool area was great and had a nice view over the mountain.
