柯光海景度假村(Koh Kwang Seaview)

De locatie van het hotel is mooi. Je kunt vanuit je kamer de zon mooi in zee zien zakken. Het geheel doet ietwat vervallen en rommelig aan. De kamer (wij hadden deluxe met zeezicht) is niet erg groot zeker door het enorme bed. De douche heeft geen aparte waterafvoer, wat maakt dat indien je naar toilet moet je steeds over de natte vloer moet. Het meest pijnlijke is de hoogte van de deur naar het toilet/douche, deze is met 180 cm net iets te laag om voor een westerling doorheen te kunnen maar net te hoog om gewaarschuwd te zijn. Hier had men wel wat signaleringstape op kunnen plakken, want in slaapdronken toestand vergeet je dit gemakkelijk en de deurpost is erg pijnlijk. Het bed is erg groot en goed. Het ontbijt is goed. Op zich is de kamer prima, maar in de huidige tijd te duur voor wat men bied, voor 1500 THB krijg je momenteel geriefelijkere kamers dan deze. Op zich een aardig hotel, alleen klopt momenteel de prijs/prestatie verhouding niet.

Our family stayed in 3 rooms for almost two weeks. The family run hotel was perfect from beginning end. We were given endless advice and help to navigate the area. The bus transfer to the airport was cheaper than ones you could book online. Since we were a group we were also often given help to book taxi transfers to nearby areas and restaurants. Our favorite driver ‘saman’ was somehow able to find us in the busiest of places at exactly the time given. The room (all seaview) were comfortable and cleaned each day. The beds were excellent and the linen very fresh. The sunsets were absolutely stunning each night. We felt treated like family - especially when the hosts bought a cake to celebrate my brother’s birthday and they included us in the celebration of New Years. The beach was clean and the water refreshing. The breakfast could be described as continental with a side of egg and perhaps some egg and sausages - all nicely served. This might not be the Sofitel up the road - but in my opinion it is better. Perfect location to a lovely beach and loads of restaurants to choose between. A daily trip to 7/11 also meant we never ran out of snacks! we would gladly visit again!

Missed this place for 3 years and we were so glad to be back to stay at this lovely place. So glad they pulled through the pandemic. Always feels like home whenever we are there. Great food , great beach, sunset was amazing & most importantly the Warmth from the host.
