One of the best home stays in Thekkady. Very close to the parking area and ticket counter. Spot less room with clean toilet. 24 hours hot water. Friendly and helpful owner. The only negative thing is no car parking. Parking on the road side. The view from the balcony is awesome spotted some wild bison early morning.

Karala House is the perfect home away from home. We prolonged our stay. The view into the jungle is amazing. The rooms have a big balcony and are spacious and clean. The family who run the place are very warm hearted. They where always helpful with information and if asked organisation (trips, things to do, best places to shop, etc.) For only a little price you can get very delicious home cocked breakfast. If I come back to Kumily I hope I can stay here again

Great view, ideal location neighbouring the tiger reserve, friendly and helpful owner family made our stay in Kerala house very pleasant. Bonnet macaques, wild pigs, indian bisons and several fascinating bird species were to be seen and heard on daily basis. Rooms and balconies are spacious and clean. We prolonged our stay to whole week!
