Als erstes möchte ich ein großes Lob an die Angestellten des notary's house aussprechen. Wir sind schon viel gereist, aber so was haben wir noch nie erlebt. Hilfsbereit und freundlich wie man es nur selten findet. Egal ob Kofferträger, Gärtner, Reinigungspersonal, Koch, Rezeption oder Kellner-- alle einfach perfekt. Ganz speziell möchten wir uns bei DUSHANTHA bedanken. Hätten wir ein Hotel, wäre er unser Mann!! Wir bekamen eine Gartenführung. Er hat uns zu einem naheliegenden Tempel begleitet und uns viel über Kultur, Land und Leute erzählt. Das Essen war genial. Sie haben uns gekocht was wir uns gewünscht haben. Das Zimmer und die gesamte kleine Hotelanlage wird sehr sauber gehalten. Frühstück gab's im kleinen Gartenpavilion. Auch da wurden wir gefragt was wir uns wünschen. Es ist ein kleines Hotel mit nur 6 Zimmern, nicht mehr ganz neu aber mit viel Charme und genau das macht es wahrscheinlich so besonders. Wir werden sicher noch einmal kommen. Well done guys!!

This place was amazing. We spent two nights here. The service was outstanding starting with a team of 3 staff ready to welcome us in at 1 a.m , with cold towels and cinnamon tea. We were the only guests for a night and day and were waited on like royalty. The outdoor area for meals was beautiful and the pool also great. The food was geared to our wishes and we sampled some amazing traditional Sri Lankan meals. Would highly recommend this place as a stop over or relaxing getaway.

Top Personal, sauber, tolle Lage und hervorragendes Essen. Können wir nur empfehlen, vor allem vor Abflug oder nach Ankunft in Colombo. Wifi hat auch super geklappt was nicht immer selbstverständlich ist in Sri Lanka. Der Velo Tour mit dem Personal war lässig.

Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt mit aussergewöhnlich aufmersamen Personal. Die Zimmers sind sauber und sehr gross. Das Bett war bequem und der Balkon bot einen wunderschönen Blick auf den Garten. Der Pool lädt ein zum Abkühlen. Es gibt bequeme Liegen, Sonnenschrime sowie Handtücher.

Ein grossartiges Hotel, wunderschön gelegen, individuell geführt mit sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern und einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre - überaus empfehlenswert! Auch das Essen war hervorragend, typische Sri Lanka Gerichte, sehr schmackhaft.

Erste Station unserer Sri Lanka-Rundreise. Sehr schönes Hotel mit direkter Lage am See. Englischer Kolonialstil; sowohl beim Mobiliar, als auch beim überaus aufmerksamen Personal. Das Essen und der Service waren sehr gut. Leider hatten wir keinen Roomservice. Aber das ist auch einziger Kritikpunkt.

The Notary's House is a colonial boutique hotel around 45 minutes from the airport and around 30 minutes from the coastal town of Negombo. The staff were extremely attentive and made sure our stay was a relaxing one. The food was excellent and our room was fabulous. There is a small Buddhist temple a short walk away that is definitely worth a visit. We walked to the temple but were caught in a monsoon downpour when we arrived there. The hotel manager realised that we were there and sent the hotels tuk tuk to rescue us! All in all, this was a really lovely place to stay before we departed for home.

Old style colonial building, ideal after the long flight. Relaxed atmosphere with lovely views over the lake and gardens. Food was amazing and staff were friendly and very welcoming. Great sized room

The Notary's House, no more than a 90 minute drive from Colombo Airport, proved to be the absolute best place to relax after a long flight from London. We stayed for the first two nights of our month long first visit to Sri Lanka and it really couldn't have been a better introduction to the country and its hospitality and cuisine. It has a beautiful out door dining area overlooking a lake. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking calm surroundings at the start of their Sri Lanka tour.

This was the first stay on our trip and it felt like stepping back in time as the property has been maintained to allow visitors to experience what it would have been like a century ago. The rooms were elegant and beautiful with dinner setting outside under the pagoda a highlight. Service and food outstanding - traditional Sri Lankan curries and breakfast were delicious. Highly recommended.

After a long trip to reach Colombo, we were driven to this little paradise. We were welcomed by Dushan and her looked after us the whole time. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. After breakfast Dushan showed us round the organic garden. He was clearly very proud of their ethos - garden to table. Everything is fresh and tasty. We would highly recommend The Notary’s House as part of your trip round Sri Lanka.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Its location is great and sits by a small lake. The rooms are fantastic- nice and large. The food is absolutely delicious. But what tops it all are the staff- so kind, so helpful! Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend!

Whats to say??? I rate all ten out of ten, location, room, pool,food(best ever)wild life, views over lake and20 out off 10 for the staff. Always a smile, so attentive,tour of garden, warning about walking under coconut trees, red ants nests in trees, coconut drinks, tour of veg garden and the list continues. They simply cant do enough for you. Look no further, you’ll not be dissapointed.

This 100-year old house has been a 6 room hotel for 9 years. Our room was spacious, comfortable and with a great view over the extensive, well-kept gardens with a lake beyond, home to many different birds. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional, served perfectly by friendly, professional staff. Kumar even took us to the lake edge after our evening meal to see the busy tortoise family for which he puts out food. Highly recommend this hotel.
