穹頂酒店(Dome Hotel & Casino at Central Kyrenia)

Als wir ankamen wurden wir freundlich von Personal empfangen. Von aussen macht das Hotel einen guten Eindruck. Im inneren ist das Ambiente etwas in die Zeit gekommen ist nicht mehr auf dem aktuellsten Stand. Wenn man genauer hin sieht ist überall was am abfallen oder Steckdosen sind teils auch Lose. Im Zimmer angekommen fällt einem die in die Jahre gekommene Tür auf. Im inneren fallen einem die heraushängenden Steckdosen auf was etwas Respekt einflösst. Im Bad fehlen teilweise einzelne Fliesen. Und in den kannten hat es überall offene Fugen. Beim Frühstück hatte zwar eine üppige Auslage aber alles sehr lieblos in Szene gesetzt. Teilweise funktionierten die Getränkeautomaten nicht. Für ein vier Sterne Hotel ist das Endergebnis sehr enttäuschend wir waren froh als wir gingen. Der Ausblick auf dem Balkon war eigentlich das beste.

Hafif Engelli olduğum için zorluk yaşamadım, fakat Tekerlekli Sandalye kullananlar refakatçi olmadan rampaları kullanamaz (biraz dik yapılmış) Tesis şehir merkezinde olduğu için bir çok konuma yakın (Örn. Girne Kalesi 2 dk'lık yürüme mesafesinde) Tesisin bir çok yerinde rampalar var, havuza inişler kolay Engelli lavabo ve odaları henüz mevcut değildi, hazırlık aşamasında olduğu söyledi sanırım 2024 yazına yetişecek. Gitmeden mutlaka bilgi alın. Odaları temiz düzenli (Yanınıza mutlaka prizler için dönüştürücü alın, biz akıl edemedik ama resepsiyon bize temin etti sağolsunlar) Yemek çeşitliliği fazla değil ama az da değildi ve lezzetliydi, çalışanlar çok ilgili hepsine Türkiye'den Teşekkürlerimi gönderiyorum. Tek memnun olmadığım tarafı yarım pansiyon olmasından mı bilemem ama akşam yemeğinde en azından bir ayran, kola gibi sıradan içeceklerin ücretli değil de yemeğe dahil olmasını isterdim fazla bir masrafı olacağını düşünmüyorum. Yine gelir miyim? Neden olmasın?

Under normal circumstances, we would probably not have stayed at the Dome Hotel, as the reviews that we had seen were not brilliant but, as we were on an escorted tour (Jules Verne's Classic Kyrenia Tour), we did not have much of a choice of accommodation and knew that we would be out on trips most days, which meant that it wouldn’t matter too much if the hotel wasn’t perfect. After having spent a week there, we can say that there are plenty of positive things about this hotel, but we can also see why it might get some poor reviews too. Before our arrival, we were in email contact with the Dome to ask a couple of questions and received prompt and helpful responses. We had advised them that it was our wedding anniversary during our stay and were delighted to find out when we arrived that they had upgraded us from a standard room to a two room junior suite (Room 346). The bedroom on its own was a good size anyway, but having the extra lounge room was very useful as the bedroom storage space was a little restricted. The bathroom was also a good size and had a jacuzzi bath, which was a nice touch, but it was a bit awkward to get in and out of, plus it was difficult to use the shower without getting water everywhere, as the shower screens did not meet in the middle. The bathroom fixtures and fittings were rather tatty and dated, as was the room overall, with dark brown being the main colour present. We really did not like the fact that the room’s doors did not have proper secure locks on them, just a push button on the inside, plus we only had one key, which made things a bit awkward if we were going out separately. We were pleased to have an in-room safe, although it seemed odd that it wasn’t actually attached to anything (so it would have been perfectly possible for someone to steal the entire thing). We didn’t have anything from the mini-bar, but there was at least enough spare room for us to keep our own stuff in there. We really liked having 2 balconies, particularly since we had an unrestricted sea view from both of them. The air conditioning worked well, plus we were able to get a nice breeze through the rooms via the balcony doors. We stayed at the Dome on a half-board basis, which meant that we had breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant each day. The food at both meals was of reasonable quality, but not very exciting or varied over the week. We were very surprised to see that the leftover soup from dinner was offered at breakfast the next morning! The puddings at dinner were very good though and we appreciated being able to order fresh omelettes at breakfast. We also liked the fact that bottled water was included with dinner at no extra cost. As the weather was warm during our stay, we chose to eat on the terrace each morning and night, but our experience was often marred by the other guests chain-smoking their way through each mealtime. It would have been nice if some of the tables could have been reserved for non-smokers, such as the

The check in was professional and swift with a warm genuine smile. The location is extraordinary. The Seaview room was beautifully decorated and clean. The bathroom had a full size bathtub to soak in and the verandah was expansive. The bed and pillows were excellent and the towels were nice and fluffy. Finally the breakfast is outstanding with a large selection of hot and cold goodies on offer including made to order omelettes from an open kitchen. We love the place.

We have visited North Cyprus may times and know and love the island. Having been together for 28 years we were married in August this year and decided to go for our 'honeymoon' to North Cyprus this, after a 4 year gap. Flight and hotels booked we had to cancel due to health concerns and after a wait and an all-clear were able re-book all. We chose the Dome, knowing the hotel but not having stayed there before. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the town and on the seafront, a stones throw from the newly renovated Venetian harbour. On arrival we received a wonderful warm welcome and our cases were whisked up to our room. We had been told that we would have a nice room with a large balcony. To our amazement were were shown into a large suite, traditionally furnished with a large super comfortable bed a jacuzzi bath, and huge balcony this was accompanied by a large platter of fruit. The hotel itself is traditional with original beautiful interior stained glass panels. The hotel is clean and well maintained. There was a huge selection of food at the buffet breakfast and we were able to enjoy it outside looking at the pool and surrounding sea. Swimming was a joy, the sea was warm and crystal clear. There is a seawater pool and steps down into the sea for swimm from the hotel decking area built over the rocks. A bit hard to describe, you have to see photos. Finally but not least, we can't thank Diler (on reception) for making us feel so welcome and special thoughout our whole stay. Can’t wait to go back.

The Dome is (or rather was) one of the best hotels in Kyrenia. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel rotates around the ****** and pool area (both of which are almost brand new). The rooms are very out of date, small and badly need updating – loose light fittings, bare (live) wires etc etc. There are also regular (almost nightly) power cuts early evening. In addition the hotel is (in theory) well located for the nearby “famous” harbour (with multiple restaurants/cafes). The harbour is undergoing renovation and has been for several months, and is thus totally out of operation/closed. Looking at its state on our holiday it will be out of use for many months to come. Don't stay here because you think it's near to nice cafes etc – it isn't any longer !

We have just returned from another lovely stay at the dome we have stayed at the hotel several times this time however several areas have been upgraded new sun loungers and parasols and the pool area has had a refurb it looks good there is plenty of beds and shade we had a lovely room with a good shower and aircon breakfast as usual plenty of fresh fruit and salads cereal jams and a egg station you could not ask for more we had most of our meals in the Anchor a part of the hotel in the new area they have created surrounded by the sea with hanging lights magic I would recommend the fresh fish the service was excellent a word of thanks to Orhan who made our evenings special we will be back soon
