This hotel is great in many ways but felt compelled to write this as we’ve become more frustrated as our holiday has progressed. Positives: Lovely modern, spacious & clean hotel. Beautifully appointed rooms. We were a group of 8 and had the 3 bed family room and it suited our needs perfectly. The weather was also spot on for an October getaway. Negatives: We weren’t offered a welcome drink on arrival when all other groups were. This wasn’t too much of an issue but this was just the start of the inconsistencies throughout our stay. We were given no info on arrival as apparently all info is available in the app. This wasn’t the case so we ended up going back to reception a few times. Housekeeping is poor & staff generally are rude. We were Provided with 4 waters in our room daily for 8 of us & given 4 cups so we had to have drinks in rounds! Most days we didn’t have enough towels and they didn’t replenish the amenities in the room often either. We bought teabags from the Dino store and the box went missing after our room was cleaned. Sun beds by the pool are ridiculously uncomfortable. The lifeguard at the pool was useless. Absolutely no point in having one. He sat at ground level so had no view of the two pools and would have a major blind spot across the baby pool behind the inflated dome. He sat on his phone for the majority of the day, I never once saw him monitor the pools and often he would get up and leave his post without a replacement. Some big kids were fighting on the inflatable dome and pushing little kids off, right infront of where he was stationed and he was too busy on his phone to even notice and a parent had to ask him to intervene. For a hotel this size they really need an extra restaurant or two. Breakfast is like feeding time at the zoo. 10 man deep queues for tea and coffee at machines and egg stations. Staff wouldn’t get you hot drinks like in most hotels at breakfast so you had no choice but to join the queues which got worse when the machines broke. 3 mugs provided on tables set for 8ppl. Huge queues for restaurant to open at breakfast and dinner. Can only imagine this gets worse during peak times in the summer. Our most worrying concern was how the hotel deals with allergies. Two of us in our party have nut allergies and were asked to fill out a form on check in to be passed to the kitchen which we assumed was a really positive step. But the form seemed useless as there was no follow up. We had to wait to catch the chef walking out of the kitchen for him to take us around each eve to show us what we could eat - only he got it wrong on a few occasions and meals were clearly scattered with nuts so it felt really risky. Nuts are in a lot of the dishes here so selection was really limited throughout the stay which I’ve never found at any other hotel before. Nuts were also in most of the children’s food selection, making for some tricky mealtimes for my daughter all week who has lived on pasta and chips. There was no
