This has been one of our favorite places to stay over the years, we sometimes stay 2-3 times a year. Sadly, I think we might look for a new place to stay when we visit Lafayette in the future. The staff was very kind, helpful and accommodating this visit. Check in was great, fast and easy. Our room was dated, but fairly clean. I didn’t report it, but one of the lamps was missing on one of our nightstands, so it seemed dark in the room. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner, grime in the doorway that may be permanent, I couldn’t tell. Hot water took forever to come out of the shower. A/C seemed to be broken most of our stay. The other BIG problem this hotel has is people who aren’t guests using the pool. This time, they had a system. Park in the nearby parking lot, get a housekeeper to let them in, then enter through one of the pool view rooms that a housekeeper was cleaning, to make it appear they are guests. I know they weren’t staying in that room because when we went to the pool, the inner door was opened and the housekeeper was cleaning, no guests were staying there. This kind of thing has happened the past 4-5 times we’ve stayed here. Mother’s Day, they parked in the parking lot and set up a complete party complete with obnoxious music, food, screaming kids running around on the pool deck and not one of the people was staying at the hotel…they never are. I don’t know what can be done because it’s so easy to enter the pool from the parking lot UNLESS they go back to having to use your key to enter the gate and instruct housekeeping that their friends and families done have free reign over this pool, it’s strictly for guests and ENFORCE IT IS ONLY FOR HOTEL GUESTS. We paid for our room, and expect peaceful use of the pool, these people aren’t guests and shouldn’t be allowed to use the pool when guests are just trying to relax out there.
Friendly front desk staff. We had an issue with the AC in our room and Chad was super nice and quick to fix it. Loved the indoor pool! Room was nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we absolutely loved Ms. Tasha! She is a gem and made our meal amazing!
AaecoptermanShoulda left before check in when I seen the fruit flies every where! Entire breakfast area and lobby are infested with fruit flies flying. Staff clearly know about it since they have traps all in the breakfast foods. Unsanitary! Try speaking to management, but the man blows you off don't care and the lady is just rude and argues. Front desk acts like you bothering them or interrupt they nap time when you need something. Accept for Ms Debby and Ms Sheryl. Asked if coffee will be ready on my early days and those two ladies are the only ones who would get it done. Can't fine anyone in the middle of night when it isn't Debby or Sheryl working. And overheard many loud ”discussions” from managers being rude to staff thru out stay. Was here for about 1 month. The 2 ladies I name are the only reason I would consider go back. The rest need serious work!
Ttyroneb1978The stay was really good! From check-in with Mrs. Mitzi to the checkout with Mrs. Dana! These ladies are what makes the stay much more pleasant. We had great rooms and even though the pool was not working, everything else was right on. I did not have any issues with my stay even with my late checkout. I would highly recommend this place!
Ooutlaw1865This place has no business being open for business in its current condition, we booked last minuet on Priceline and was given what we thought was a very reasonable rate at $59.95 plus tax. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly young woman at the front desk who immediately began apologizing for the condition of the hotel which is never a good sign saying it was currently under ”heavy renovation” (whatever that means), then went on to say that they were also having employee issues with their housekeeping crew so she was not sure yet which rooms had been cleaned. Looking back with 20/20 hindsight we should have simply cut our losses and sought shelter elsewhere but after driving all day we were tired & hungry, and just wanted a place to hang our hats for the night. The first room we were given had an extremely strong mildew smell that nearly knocked us over, the second room we were given key's to had been completely gutted as in no beds, no carpet, no TV, no fridge, etc. etc. just 4 bare walls and a floor and the 3rd room while it did have beds, a fridge, working TV, and a furnished bathroom, it had no clock, no phone, no microwave, & no coffee pot, just the most basic bare necessities and nothing more. There were no restaurants in the immediate area plus the hotel is in a rather sketchy neighborhood, so much so that the Uber driver we hired to take us to a decent restaurant for dinner told us to be sure and be back before nightfall as most Uber drivers will not go to that neighborhood after dark! Best to just steer clear of this trainwreck altogether, virtually anything would be a better option.
