迎賓館(The Guest House)

My wife and I stayed at the Maui Guest House and couldn't have been more satisfied. The room was spacious, had all the necessities, and the staff was great. They have coolers, beach gear, beach towels, and more for you to use. There is a laundry room for guests, and you have full run of the kitchen to cook, and the coffee is excellent. If we're come back to Maui, we'll come back to the Maui Guest House.

Wow! Where to start? This is an incredible place to stay and we can't recommend it highly enough. After a stressful journey to Maui we were welcomed with such warmth and empathy we were bowled over! John, Heather, Barbara and Tanna work tirelessly to provide every need for their guests. There is such attention to detail, from the availability of cool boxes, free laundry, coffee, cold drinks, DVDs, beach chairs...the list is endless. Our recent trip covered a number of hotels but nothing came close to the cleanliness, personal service and above all hospitality of the Maui Guest House. We arrived as weary travelers but left as friends to our hosts. We can only reiterate previous comments as this is truly a home away from home. This is a must stay accommodation when visiting Maui. However, you will need to book well in advance. Having stayed for 10 days we can honestly say that the property and hosts were faultless. Have no hesitation in recommending, in fact it's the best accommodation we've stayed in! 10 out of 10 in every detail!

Excelente lugar para pasar las vacaciones, hacer una escapada o disfrutar simplemente de un día! Magnífico trato! Nos quedamos un día, nos salía el vuelo al día siguiente por la tarde y nos dejaron utilizar absolutamente todas las zonas comunes, así como el baño de cortesía antes de irnos. Las dos mujeres que nos atendieron fueron muy amables! Nos dejaron también el equipo de snorkel y una sombrilla para la playa, que tienen a disposición de los clientes, café recién hecho, una colección enorme de DVD (hahaha) y tantos detalles que hace que te sientas como en casa. Las habitaciones muy muy limpias, muy cómodas, con todo lo necesario. Ojalá volvamos pronto! Si volvemos nos hospedaremos allí SEGURO! MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!! 😃

Outstanding experience! Adult oriented guest house with lovely rooms that feature a quiet time from 9 pm onwards, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a day of activities. While no longer offering breakfast, there is a fully stocked kitchen for guest use as well as in room fridges so you can organize your own breakfasts and other meals as you choose. Price point for the accommodation reflects this. Home is super clean and stylish with living room,,TV room, outdoor area with pool, hot tub, etc. staff are exceptional and become friends/ family members overnight. These folks really care about your experience and are constantly asking if you are doing okay, if there is anything they can do for you, etc. outstanding hospitality, generosity and an aloha spirit. Well located to the Lania town centre and other areas. What can we say…everything was perfect and beyond…book with assurance and enjoy!

I absolutely loved this place. The location is perfect in a quiet residential area, but close to the beach and shopping area. The entire house and my own room were perfectly clean, and the common area (especially the kitchen) had almost everything I needed. I also enjoyed chatting with staff members and other guests almost every day. Unfortunately, I was too busy to stay and relax at the house during the day (4 nights stay), but every time I went out and came back at night, I felt like I was coming home to family or friends. This is the exact feeling of "Home away from home". This place really made my Maui trip very special. I really hated to leave, but now I must return to Maui to stay in this place again near future.

Wir haben die Hawaii-Reise vor 9 Monaten bei umfulana gebucht. 2 Tage vor unserer Ankunft hatuns die Gastgeberin Tanna über umfulana mitgeteilt, dass Dachreparaturen durchgeführt werden und das tagsüber laut würde. Wenn uns das nicht passt, könnten wir ja stornieren, was in Anbetracht der Kürze der Zeit schlichtweg unrealistisch ist. Empfangen wurden wir von einer Angestellten, die uns erklärte, Tanna habe keine Zeit, sie müsse die Bauarbeiter beaufsichtigen. Ist klar, 24/7. Tanna hat sich nicht einmal in den 5 Tagen unserer Abwesenheit blicken lassen und mit uns gesprochen. Die Angestellte uns ferner, die Lounge wäre wegen der Bauarbeiten gesperrt. Auf die Frage, wo man in der Nähe frühstücken könne, konnte die Angestellte keine Auskunft geben. Zudem war unser Zimmer (rechts gelegen) sehr dunkel, nur buntes Glasfenster und kleines Deckenlicht. Shampoo, Duschgel und Seife mussten wir aus dem Schrank unter dem Waschbecken raussuchen. Die Lage der Unterkunft in einer Seitenstraße in Lahaina ist aber sehr gut! Fazit: Bei mittlerweile 8 umfulana-Reisen auf 4 Kontinenten war das mit Abstand die unfreundlichste Gastgeberin!!

Just an update that this guest well run house was closed by the Lahaina Fire of August 2023. As of April 2024 this neighborhood is closed and barricaded. It is unknown when this neighborhood will get infrastructure built and reopen. When I saw this property it was well run, had off street parking and busy.

My wife and I have stayed at the guest house 3 times dating back to 2002. Each time was a pleasure. This time was for our 40th anniversary and I must say it was the best. The changes brought on by Covid created some changes to the property from what we had experienced before but they were tastefully and beautifully done, and the house still has a special feel to it. Tanna and her team were always helpful and accommodating. Best Value on the island in my opinion.

We stayed in one of the back rooms with a private lanai which was beautiful and serene. The house was impeccably clean and the hosts, John and Heather, could not have been more gracious and welcoming. They were a wealth of information- with recommendations for activities and places to visit. They also anticipated our needs - offering snorkeling gear and having fresh brewed coffee available early every morning! Added bonuses for us were the use of a cooler for our days exploring and the use of a washer and dryer free of charge! The location was excellent too. A great beach just a little down the road perfect for snorkeling, swimming and playing in the sand! The Maui Guesthouse is a great value and we hope to visit again.
