The name “Inside Out” came about to describe this immersive experience where boundaries between you & the forest dissolve, leaving you with a sense of tranquility & connection. Wake up as the sun rises to a view of the dewy forest through the wall-to-wall glass doors that fold open completely, where there is no transition from the inside out. The optional wall-to-wall screen provides a sense of security in this intimate sanctuary while still allowing the cool breeze to flow into the house. The space has flexibility for whatever you desire most in terms of experience. Feel like outdoor living? Then open the glass doors completely & immerse yourself in nature. Feel like doing a Zoom call for work? Then close the glass doors, let everyone else play on the deck open your laptop, & focus on work for an hour. The cathedral ceilings and large windows create lots of light & space. The ceiling fan keeps the air going for a comfortable time inside. The kitchenette with an induction cooktop is a great way to cook your own meal without heating up the entire space. Or, you can do traditional BBQ on the grill and enjoy the solitude of the trees. From the parking area, go down the set of stairs and walk straight back to the deck on the walkway on the side of the house. The main door is on the back deck. The front unit is separate so please do not use the front door! The neighborhood is quiet and it’s about 5-7 minutes driving time to the Village. Lake Gregory is a public lake in the town of Crestline, a small town about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain of San Bernardino. It is the closest mountain town to events and locations “down the hill”. In the past few years, the lake operations have become privately managed with significant improvements being done at the lake including the development of a water park, beach improvements, and boat, kayak, and canoe rentals. There is a fee to access the beach area and the water park and no fee to access the 2 1/2 mile trail around the lake. Fishing is allowed and more info can be found on the Lake Gregory website. Crestline has a small-town alpine feel with the lake nestled amongst the tall trees. Crestline gets less snow than the other 2 lake locations. The quaint town has restaurants, coffee shops, and thrift stores. Twin Peaks/Blue Jay sits in between Crestline and Lake Arrowhead and is convenient to both lakes. It has its restaurants, shops, and thrift stores. It is famous for its outdoor farmer’s market on Thursday afternoons (seasonal). A car is recommended. Each of the 2 living spaces has its own separate entrance for added flexibility. There is a door between them that can be locked for added privacy. The deck is gated and safe for dogs. We have an age minimum of 25 for adults staying with us. The third queen sleeping space is a loft and is open to the downstairs living space and is accessed with a secured ladder. There is also an extra pull out loveseat with 2 individual twin beds in the room with the queen bed and large windows. There is an extra guest fee of $12 per person per night for groups larger than 4 adults. In winter months if there is snow, parking may be limited to one car. For 28+ nights stay, the refundable damage deposit is $100. We will provide bi-weekly cleaning at the price quoted, or there is an option to self-clean with a refundable cleaning deposit of $350. The longer-term cleaning fee is $175. The difference between this fee and the initial cleaning fee paid upon booking will be collected along with the deposits before check-in. Immediately after booking you will receive our short rental agreement to review and accept. The Cottage is a former Bugsy Siegel hunting cabin, nestled in the trees on a 14,000 sf lot. The style is modern/rustic with lots of light and high ceilings. Everything has been upgraded in this renovated 1926 cottage. Secluded and minutes from the famous Tudor House, the gathering spot of Bugsy and his gang in the days of prohibition. Steps out the front door, a gazebo, and a fire pit have been added for ultimate enjoyment of the crisp cool mountain air. There is another sleeping area upstairs in the loft and it is an open loft with a ladder for access. It was designed this way to keep it open and airy. This stylish home away from home in the woods provides an experience not to forget with a cozy fireplace, a large Smart TV, and a full kitchen (the oven is a countertop convection oven). It is set up as a studio with a very comfy queen bed tucked away in its own nook with a privacy screen. The kitchen is well stocked and includes a gas cooktop, dishwasher, and countertop convection oven. Take the Bugsy Challenge! If you would like to take the Bugsy Challenge, you will be given 3 clues that will lead you to the secret location of the safe containing the long-lost “goods” that Bugsy left behind. Your reward is receiving 30% off your next stay at one of our unique properties. About the area: Lake Arrowhead is in the mountains at about 5,500 feet. The main highlight is the change of seasons and clean crisp air. The temperature in the summer is approximately 15 degrees cooler than other areas at lower altitudes. In the winter, there is snow. It is incredibly beautiful and peaceful with lots of trees. It is more of a small-town feel with narrow roads in the Villas where the cottage is located. The Village at Lake Arrowhead sits on the lake. There are shops and restaurants at the Village and the Arrowhead Resort and Spa is close by. The Tudor house is nearby and if you search around you can read more about Bugsy's former gathering place where there is entertainment weekly and they have an excellent brunch. The 2nd part of the property with a separate entrance in the back is at times rented separately. There are no shared walls as the storage area and closet sit between the two spaces. We have an age minimum of 23 for adults staying with us. The 2nd queen bed is in the loft accessed by a secured ladder. The loft is open to the living room downstairs and the other sleeping space. In winter months if there is snow, parking may be limited to one car. For 28+ nights stay, please contact us before booking. The refundable damage deposit is $100. We will provide bi-weekly cleaning at the price quoted, or there is an option to self-clean with a refundable cleaning deposit of $350. The longer-term cleaning fee is $225. The difference between this fee and the initial cleaning fee paid upon booking will be collected along with the deposits before check-in.
