Very bad customer service

Absolutely loved it here! Just spent a week with my family including two teenagers and everybody had a wonderful time! Not sure what others are talking about in their reviews because all of the staff that we encountered were some of the nicest people that I have ever met in my entire life! Absolutely loved the location of this hotel, parked our car and didn't touch it once! We had a suite with a Lakeview and balcony… we loved having the kitchen amenities because we brought some stuff that way we could eat some meals in the room so we didn't have to eat out all the time! One thing I definitely would suggest if you stay here is to spend the extra money at least on the view so you don't have to stare at a parking lot! They do provide body wash and shampoo in the room but make sure you bring body lotion and conditioner because none of that is provided! One thing that the resort is lacking is umbrellas/shade and I know this is because they don't want to obstruct the view to the lake which I totally understand… We were able to snag chairs at the pool that were in a shaded area but be warned that there aren't that many shady spots! Food at the rooftop bar was fantastic along with the drinks! On certain days they had a waitress at the pool which was a total bonus… We had Erika a couple of days and she was absolutely terrific! This was our first time in Lake George and it certainly won't be our last! We will be returning to Surfside! Thanks for a great week!

Extremely Dissapointed Repeat Customer too... I was getting ice to go to Saratoga Race Track when a older woman approached me and asked for my room #. I said 400. Proceeded to my vehicle when another woman -General Mgr. Kristine - came at me in an aggressive manner and she said I took too much ice out of the machine and I told her to leave me alone. I spent over $1,500 for 4 night to be there too. My Cooler did not even cover the 8 cans in there. She said only one 8 inch bucket is allowed. We will go back to Scotty's but were booked. My degree is from the Conrad Hilton School of Hospitality in Houston Texas back in 1990's and the GM of this location would never make it past Freshman Year, sorry to say. Frank M. Barrile

I'll start by saying we had been here before and loved it. However, this time around, it was a nightmare. There were dead bugs in our room and spiders everywhere, which we kept killing. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, we were told that it was black fly season and nothing could be done, but they would send someone to clean the room. Unfortunately, no one showed up, despite me sending a photo of the inside of the room. We really didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but then the GM, Chris, called and said the outside was cleaned, then was very rude on the phone and refused to listen to what I had to say. She tried to justify the fact that the room never got cleaned, every possible way, and ended up hanging up on me, making it sound like we were the problem due to the bugs they refused to clean. It was a horrible experience with poor service. This could have been handled better. I don't recommend this hotel; if I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Fantastic weekend stay! Resort is renovated and they did a beautiful job. Saw the staff working hard every day, cleaning, maintaining. There is a security guard walking the grounds; you get a bracelet to wear to use the pool/bbq area. Did not go into the pool though, it looked cloudy. Plenty of kids were enjoying the pool. There are several buildings on the property. We stayed in building 2. It was on the second floor. If you can't go up and down steps be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor or in the building with the elevator. Heard almost no noise from other adjoining rooms. Room very comfortable with full kitchenette and two queen beds; even plates etc. in the cupboard. Slept well. Bedding is comfortable and new and fresh, including the pillows. No musty smell in the room like other hotels. Shower had great water pressure and was hot. Location is ideal right in the middle of town and perfect views of the lake. Restaurants on site. Did not get a chance to try them. Ample parking and an underground garage as well. I'd recommend this hotel! Many many families were staying here and everyone had smiles. That tells you the whole story.

Spent nearly a week here in July. Beach is great and having free access to paddle boards and kayaks was great. We utilized this offering. Never used the pool, prefer lake. Stayed in suite, very roomy. Clean, tidy. I like that room is cleaned daily which not all hotels do anymore. Parking is tough. This needs to be addressed. Experienced 2 different people playing obnoxiously loud music on beach. No staff addressed this. Not cool since I tried napping. Restaurants were both good. Loved the lunch/dinner spot - food was really great here. We stayed next door last year and prefer this.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. I did notice there were no plastic cups so bring your own, also no body lotion, which I always carry extra just in case. The breakfast was very expensive, but the lunch and dinner restaurant was a good price and drinks were also not too expensive, Susan is an excellent waitress. We did have a big group and asked if there was a place to play cards, the manager was not able to provide us with any place out of the rain for our group. Also our group does trivia, the hotel always gives us something (with the hotel name on it) to give as prizes, again the manager did not give us anything but a couple of plastic cork screws which I did use as prizes, we were surprised considering all the money our group just spent the manager wouldn't even give us 1 t shirt or cup, they said we had to buy it if we wanted it. Also there was a $70 voucher if you filled out the online information which I did, again we were told they never got the info and we could not get a voucher, I said well if you give everyone in the group even a $10 voucher it would get everybody back up to the restaurant and we would be spending hundreds, but they wouldn't do that either so we went elsewhere and spent money. Nice place but needs better management to make the most out of what they have to offer. We travel with between 10-30 people in our bike group and if we like a place we go back, unfortunately I don't think the Surfside is on our go back list.

We paid extra for the patio lake front suite. Our room had mold all above the air unit, safe didn't work, squeaky beds, screen door broken and no patio light. That was just the start of issues. The lobby was no help or the customer service text service they have. Was pretty bummed about this trip. Plenty of other places to stay on the lake!

Clean rooms and surrounding areas, easy check in, it has a lovely pool & private beach area with free kayaks, which we did & it was so much fun! Great location too; park your car in their private lot & you don’t need to touch it. I would suggest though to bring your own: -pillows—because the bed pillows are way too thick and hard; we couldn’t use them at all & slept with no pillows -pool/beach towels—bc tiny and thin -water floats for the lake -hair conditioner, none in the shower We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food.
