Before we got into the unit we were faced with a verandah with lots of bird droppings. On our request it was pressure washed the next day. On entering the unit, we were faced with a fan that was black with dust, a light fitting filled with insects, a television sitting on a TV stand one end on the tiles the other on the timber flooring. A half-eaten MnM stuck to the floor under the front of the TV stand. 1 tea towel and 1 dish cloth for 5 nights’ accommodation. Grease on the range hood filter that smelt. Dead insects in the runner on the kitchen window. Black grime around the taps in the bathroom sink. After all of that we had a sign that had the cheek to say that if we didn’t wash the dishes before leaving we could be charged a cleaning fee.
