水邊旅館(Wateredge Inn- the Inn Collection Group)

Overall the hotel is good. Clean, comfortable and the food good. The room is clean and comfortable and house keeping was good with tea/coffee etc refills, bed made and clean towels. However room 6 should not be booked as the noise from the kitchen and venting system is bad. Loud booms from the metal vents and sounds like beer barrels being moved.

We were two couples. Two double rooms were booked on the same booking and charged at the same price..when we arrived one room allocated was very big and what I would have expected for the money paid. The other double room was very small indeed and not satisfactory at all, for the money the hotel charged. The hotel was fully booked when we asked to change it. This was a special birthday occasion and somewhat spoiled the event. Also, I was very disappointed with the ‘Buffet’ breakfast??? Although the food was of a good quality, we had to wait quite a while for fresh fried eggs, clean mugs for hot drinks, no teaspoons or sugar replenished, would normally not expect this in a hotel. Overall, I was very disappointed in our stay, having honeymooned there 25 years ago.

The staff were very friendly and clearly working hard. Probably overworked and understaffed is the impression we got. Our room wasn't cleaned for the last 2 days - on the first occasion a general member of staff came to do it while we went out to the lake and the second time was too late in the day with the kids evening routine so we opted for the free drinks instead (you can have this instead of having your room cleaned - although this was intended as a choice). Great location and good food choice. A bit short on parking as part of the car park used as a compound for building works during our stay. We paid about £265 per night for a "suite" which was really more of a large room. Probably overpriced at this with hindsight. £150 pre night would have been more on the mark.

We liked the room, breakfast selections, views from the garden. We did not like the noise, the understaffing, the chaos at booking in, the lack of parking, the busy Road between us and the hotel, the time it took for meal service.

Good place for a weekend away by the lake and the can walk to the ferry station on the lake . Only one thing I would say about the rooms you can here everyone else is rooms no soundproof.

Not the place it was. Money is the object now, crowded with chairs, tables, and picnic tables well into the view, menu is poor, chips and chips and chips, building works/generators wake you at 7.30am, and don’t forget that the room rate rises down the week towards the weekend!

We had a lovely room with wonderful staff, and we would thoroughly recommend it for a restful break.

Really enjoyed my stay and the food we had at dinner was so good. Lovely staff and ambience was great. Was very sad to leave Would definitely go back
