Walking around Ambleside on a Tuesday eve and everywhere seemed a little be lack , so walked into the Ambleside Inn as we love a bit of atmosphere and people watching while we eat. I had the mussels and my partner the chowder off the specials and it was delicious. The staff were tremendous, chatty and welcoming that I had to ask for their names. Raz, Jessie and Sylvie.…what a lovely team. We are here for a week and most certainly will be back x

Popped in with our puppy Rupert whilst waiting for our apartment to be ready, Rupert wasn't sure about the steps down, but the staff encouraged him and made a fuss when he did it. Service was efficient, friendly and sweet food was more than we anticipated and we had a lovely relaxing lunch. Thanks to the team, Rupert will see you again before we go 🐾 x

Had the best lunch and coffee after a big walk with my daughter at the Ambleside. Nice welcoming bar and seated area. Service was delightful, food was excellent, especially the paprika crispy potato skins made by Anthony the chef! Would highly recommend popping in if you are in town.

Everything you need for a nights stay Nice room to base ourselves from for the night before the Fred Whitton. Basic room with everything you need, only complaint would be that the room we had was facing the street and the Saturday nightlife was pretty loud till late walking past the front of our room that kept waking us up, appreciate this is outside of the hotels control though so not their fault but this is just a work of warning if you are after an early. Ight for an early start.

Lovely hotel, although sometimes waiting time to be served was a little frustrating - standing at the bar at breakfast with nobody else there and one member of staff at the other end of the bar on their phone isn’t a good look.
