La struttura più sporca in cui io sia mai stata. La doccia era piena di muffa nera, non veniva pulita da chissà quanto. I letti erano sporchi. Non basta spruzzare quintali di profumo per far credere che la stanza sia pulita. In 2 giorni non siamo mai riusciti a connetterci al Wi-Fi. I cuscini dei lettini della piscina era sporchi e ammuffiti. C’è scritto che in piscina non si può fumare e portare confezioni di vetro, nessuno controlla, nessuno rispetta.

The Blue Heron was a lovey hotel and my room faced the lake. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed walking on the board walk, sitting on the balcony, and even tried the hammock. I was surprised at how quiet it was. The staff could not have been nicer. Everyone greeted us, asked us if the stay was going well, and did we need anything. I only had a couple of days for a get-a-way and it went beautifully.

Charming & clean hotel! The rooms are large, beds were comfortable and even though we stayed above T Bones the rooms were very quiet. The 2 restaurants are good; the Boardwalk is my fav right over the water. All the food we had was delicious; we rented a pontoon for the afternoon to troll around the lake. Chessie trailhead is right beside this hotel, which is paved and perfect for a walk. There's also a park with benches/swings and a great view of the lake on the other side! We plan to make this an annual summer stop! I've also heard their fireplace rooms are great for a winter weekend!

Having been here years ago and remembered it fondly, I should have left it in the 80s like the decor. We were told that our room had been remodeled/redecorated. Well, the vinyl laminate flooring was a good improvement over the carpeting. The shower was nice as well. That's all. No towels. No USB ports. No phone to call the front desk. No counter space in the bath or place to put a hair dryer or one's toiletries. A very old ironing board with what looked like the original cover, dust and mold. But alas, there was no iron!! Tub in the room so one could almost roll out of bed into the whirlpool tub! When redecorating, the designers forgot that brass, burgundy, green and floral prints were Oh so 1980s! But if one needed the LaPorte Yellow Pages from 2015, it was readily available in the drawer of the bedside table, right under the old stained and tired lamp and lampshade! The view of the lake was nice, but only one of us could enjoy it from the patio as they must have thought this was a solo trip with only one outside chair! The mattress was a king, put on top of 2 twin box springs that did not fit...one could see about 6 inches of box spring outside of the mattress. Nice lobby but very dated. OK breakfast. T-Bones, the restaurant was excellent. The rooms were too $$ for the condition. Did they really paint over wallpaper? Maybe that is what caused the ripples on the wall? I wish that we had looked at some of the guest posted photos prior to making the reservation.

Disgusting, smelly stain on the mattress n our room. Relocated to a room 5 feet from the front desk where we could hear every conversation/phone call/ guest entrance and exit. Outdated. Not clean. Stay away.

The inn is in a wonderful location however the room we stayed in was not clean, smelled of smoke and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The bedskirt had a giant stain on it The sheets were old and I just prayed they were clean but I am not too sure about that. We stayed 2 nights and after the 1st night we put out the sign for housekeeping to come by. We returned to find that all they did was change the trash and throw (literally throw) the blanket on the bed. No new towels, no vacuuming, and definitely no cleaning. The staff was very nice at check in and the waterfront bar/restaurant was great but that does not make up for the condition of the room.

Will never stay again at the Blue Heron Inn in LaPorte. We have stayed there for 20+ years and loved being on the lake. However, over the years little has been done for the upkeep of the rooms - especially the bathrooms. The lakeside view room we stayed in had black mold in the shower/ceiling area. Very disappointing!!

Booked this hotel for the Michigan City boat racing weekend after the B & B down the road canceled our reservation due to going out of business. Based our selection of this hotel on previous reviews. We had a park view spa room on the second floor. First of all, the one older lady at the front desk (I say older lady due to the fact that most times there were what looked like teenagers staffing the front desk) was very nice. We didn't use the pool as it was small and young kids were in it the couple times we saw it. The outside bar area is nice for a drink, but be aware that smoking is allowed at it. We didn't eat at T-Bone's this time, but did last year while staying at another hotel in the area and it was very good. The lobby area is nice and the breakfast is more than adequate. Now for the not so good: Very limited parking, which gets taken by the restaurant & outside bar patrons. When it's full, you'll have to park at the adjacent little park's parking lot. There are no carts for carrying luggage to/from your room. If you're on the second floor (rooms are numbered in the 300s there and 200s on the first floor...??) a cart wouldn't do you any good anyway as there's no elevator. So only the 1st floor is handicap accessible. The bed was good enough for a couple nights, but wouldn't want to sleep on it much longer. It isn't that comfortable, especially when compared to what's now in most Hampton Inns, Comfort Inns, etc. The bed also had a fitted plastic liner under the normal fitted sheet. It was very noisy and was immediately taken off the bed. I've never seen that before; do they have issues with people peeing the bed here?? The bathroom tiles had several areas of grout missing, the corner shower was small and the shower head was very high, which is normally good, but in this small shower the lowest it could be pointed was about my chest (I'm 5'11"). So smaller people would have it hitting them in the face or shooting over the shower enclosure. The shower enclosure and fixtures all look like they've been there for many, many years as they're seriously showing their age. I will say the hot water was quick and plentiful though. There was only one roll of toilet paper, but I'm not sure where they would've put another roll as there's no storage area in the bathroom. The A/C unit was pretty loud. Thank goodness I had earplugs as, otherwise, it would've been like trying to sleep next to an idling '69 Chevy SS! Had to unplug either the lamp or the clock next to the bed to have an outlet for charging a cell phone. Fireplace in room always has at least a small flame and a little heat coming from it...was told that's just the way it is. Room did have a hair dryer, microwave, fridge and a small balcony with 2 chairs. Overall, I wouldn't tell someone NOT to stay here, but I would tell them not to have more than average expectations. Whomever owns this hotel really needs to spend some money to update what obviously hasn't been changed in a
