庫拉京樓酒店(Kurrajong House)

We spent only two nights at the Kurrajong House B&B, but very much enjoyed our stay. We were in the ‘Emily’ room which was the first room off from the dining area, but it was quiet and a spacious room. We enjoyed the Victorian décor touches and the large king size bed was comfortable. We only had one breakfast there, as we were headed to Hobart airport early on the last morning. (Launceston would definitely be a better airport to leave from and closer to the B&B!) We were thankful for the coffee and coffee pot they left for us, as well as milk in the fridge, and their offer to leave cereal for our 5am departure. The breakfast we did have, was delicious and kept us going most of the day. Even though we had only a short stay, they cleaned our room for us when we were out, and made up the bed. We were quite busy, and only wished we had more time to enjoy the Kurrajong House. We were grateful for Linda and Andre’s lovely hospitality while visiting Launceston. It is noted that our GPS took us up one of the steeper Launceston roads, on Balfour Street, to reach the B&B. We learned that Canning Street, was much less steep, and took us to the B&B just as easily.

I was driving around Tasmania anti clockwise and decided to stay for two nights in Launceston so I could do a Tamar River Wine Tour. This was an excellent choice. It is a small hotel/guest house run by Andrè and Linda, an Australian / Scottish couple. They go above and beyond making sure guests enjoy their stay. And have two delightful dachshunds too! There are a couple of rooms outside the main building but my room was in the main building. There is a gorgeous garden with plenty of seating before you go into the building, and if it was better weather this would have been a wonderful place to sit - someone obviously takes a great deal of care with the garden which was colourful even in winter. There is also enough parking for guests. You enter the main house straight into a large room which is the dining room, and there are comfortable sofas there too. It is also beautifully decorated and maintained. I was shown to my room (Emily room) and again this was lovely. The heater / air con was on when I arrived so the room was already warm. There is a built in cupboard / wardrobe, in keeping with the age of the room, and as well as hanging space this is where you can find the small fridge, kettle and safe. The lighting in the room was good - a strong main overhead light and three lamps. The bed was a large French-style wooden bed and there was also a full length mirror in the room. There was a very pretty, tiled fire place but sadly no fire! The shower room was spacious and shampoo, conditioner, wash and body/hand cream was all supplied. There was plenty of hot water in the morning for my shower I only opted to have breakfast on one of the two mornings as I usually don’t have breakfast. This was prepared by Andrè - I opted just for a poached egg on toast but could have had the full bacon, tomatoes etc. There is also cereal on the table, and each guest starts breakfast with a plate of fresh cut fruit and a jar of homemade yoghurt. If I had still been hungry after all that there was a variety of home made jams and marmalades. This is a lovely place to stay for anyone visiting Launceston and I wish I could have stayed longer.

The Kurrajong House was comfortable and inviting. My clean and spacious Newton Heritage room with a king bed and sofa was on the first floor. The bedding was comfortable, and the inn was quiet. My friend had a smaller room, also comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Guests can use a family room adjacent to the breakfast table or the outside patio. Hosts Linda and Andre were friendly and helpful. The B&B is in a great location in a hilly neighborhood with beautiful character homes. it was a 10-minute downhill walk to downtown Launceston. We found the town delightful for exploring, and especially enjoyed the Saturday farmers market with its unique offerings. I highly recommend the Kurrajong House. It was the most relaxing stay during our 3-week Australia trip.

The greeting from the host before we walked in ❤️ The Room was out of this world. The place is modern and captures old world world charm. It is set up perfectly Everything is perfect. I so love the place. I'll be back. Add the owners warm friendly personalities and Your in a world of care and kindness. As for the bed, Your in Heaven. The most comfortable bed I've slept in. Do yourself a favour and go. Luxury at it's finest

Loved our wonderfully helpful hosts and Rose Cottage met all our needs. Highly recommend breakfast and staying at Kurrajong House. A true gem.

We would definitely recommend this hotel. Stayed for one night in February, we had an upgraded room, which was clean and comfortable, with beautiful decor. The breakfast was fantastic, all you could want, the owners were friendly, warm and very accommodating

Andre and Linda are wonderful hosts...great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The breakfast was home cooked and the best we had on our trip. The Rose Cottage we stayed in was just like a home away from home....thank you

From the moment we arrived, Linda and Andre were friendly and respectful. Their knowledge of Launceston was a great help. Rose Cottage was perfect. Home away from home. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you both for a great stay 🤗
