What a beautiful place! We came for a wedding and it was amazing. The staff were fab. Special shout out to the agency staff (with dreadlocks) who did an amazing job. We didn’t stay over but the premier inn at goole is only 20 minutes away by car. Saltmarsh could do with a better path from where you park your car to the front door as it’s not great to negotiate wearing stilletos. 😍

Lovely afternoon tea. Saltmarshe Hall is well off the "beaten track ", but with satnav we found it! The hall is surrounded by stunning grounds with a view of The Ouse. It was a cold day but the hall was lovely and warm as was our welcome. We were shown to the dining room which had a very relaxed atmosphere and roaring log fire. The afternoon tea was well presented and ample accompanied by glass of champagne. The experience was a gift from our daughter. Would definitely recommend.

We went for an afternoon tea at Saltmarsh and had a great time. The staff were really helpful, especially Chloe. The afternoon tea itself was really nice with a glass of champagne that complimented it. Will certainly visit again and enjoy the gardens in summer.

Booked Saltmarshe Hall as a treat for my partner for his 30th Birthday over Easter weekend. We arrived at midday and kicked off the weekend with an afternoon tea where we were treated to two glasses of complimentary prosecco, this was a thoughtful and appreciated added touch. The afternoon tea was delicious! Every ingredient and element tasted fresh and flavoursome, it was beautifully presented and on theme for Easter - we got to try "hot cross bun scones" and WOW they were yummy. After tea we were granted early access to our room, The Howdenshire Suite, which is decadent, luxurious, but still very comfortable. We went for a nice walk in the afternoon to see the cows and sheep by the grounds and then ordered a bottle of prosecco for the room (£31) to relax with. We went down to the bar in the evening which was pretty quiet - this was a bit of a shame as it lacked atmosphere! The drinks are quite expensive (£14 for a cocktail and £7.50 for a pint of lager) but the food is reasonable, we had burgers for tea at about 7pm. The next day we had breakfast, which was included in our stay, but didn't eat too much as we were booked in for an Easter Sunday lunch at 12:30pm. We had to check out at 10am so went for quite a long walk into Saltmarshe and then up towards Laxton to kill some time - the weather was quite extreme so this wasn't the easiest of walks, we had to dry off by the fire in the bar when we returned! Lunch was served at 12:30pm - £25 for two courses is reasonable BUT you have to pay extra for cauliflower cheese, mashed potatoes and stuffing, amongst other bits. I would rather pay £25 for one course but with those sides included although that's just my preference. The food was exquisite, service wonderful, and it was nice to see the dining room full for the first time during our stay! I would definitely say that Saltmarshe Hall is a hidden gem. I know it is a popular wedding destination but I think it deserves more recognition as a hotel because it has a lot to offer and, with more customers, it might expand even further. Most of the staff were brilliant - I caught Ellie's name and I'm glad I did because she definitely stood out. She was so hospitable, friendly and accommodating. The young staff who served our afternoon tea, Sunday roast, and drinks behind the bar were all so professional and polite too, they did an excellent job.

Lovely old style hotel. Went for a birthday treat. Booked a suite, it was big, comfortable and very luxurious, particularly liked the bath in the bedroom. We had a bite to eat when we arrived, which was well presented and tasty. The bar area was like a gentleman's club. It was quiet, even though there seemed to be quite a few people staying. We walked along the river and around the grounds, which were beautiful and very well kept, We've been in the summer when you could have used the outdoor swimming pool. We had dinner in the evening, which was delicious and the staff polite and courteous. Overall we would stay again as we really enjoyed our night there. Our only problem was the massive shower in our room was tepid water only. But not a problem as we had the bath .

We were given a gift voucher for Christmas 2024 and decided to upgrade and use it at Saltmarshe Hall for an afternoon tea experience. What a lovely surprise, although we live in Leeds, we had never heard of it, only being 35 mile away. The hall is tucked away, on the banks of the river Ouse, up a narrow lane. Once we turned into the drive, we were very happy to see a lovely large house, obviously quite old but well maintained. The staff greeted us and showed us to a seating area outside on a patio, which was covered by large parasols ( which was good, due to the sun 🌞) the afternoon tea was lovely, being vegetarian l was catered for on a separate plate. Cakes were nice, lovely lemon squares. But the setting made it for us, we finished the day with a walk around the grounds, which were beautifully kept. We are now considering a stay there for a weekend away.

From the first moment we arrived at Saltmarshe Hall we knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. The setting is so beautiful, and the exclusive use of the venue on your wedding day is really valuable. Amy was our coordinator, and she was extremely thorough and organised. Emails were answered promptly and we felt very confident that the day would run smoothly with her in charge. On our wedding day, the sun was shining and we were lucky to have an outdoor ceremony in the walled garden. One of the nice things about Saltmarshe is the variety of different locations, all lovely, so our guests moved between the walled garden for the ceremony, the terrace for drinks and canapes, followed by the morning room for the wedding breakfast, rather than staying in the one room all day. We opted for the 3 different meal choices for our wedding breakfast, and despite having 100 guests, the food quality was excellent, and dishes were brought out promptly. The staff worked very hard and every aspect of the day was perfect. Thank you so much!

Saltmarshe Hall is a stunning building set in extensive grounds with beautifully maintained gardens. We had a superb stay in a very comfortable (pet friendly) room which was spotlessly clean. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and professional. Food was a delight; dinner was excellent with the staff setting up a table for us in the library so that our puppy could join us. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a special get away!

Absolutely stunning location and beautiful hotel with an absolute touch of class and luxurious stay! The bar, library, grounds, room and restaurant was absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed my stay!
