Hotel rooms small but spotless. Desk staff were amazing. Of all hotels I've ever stayed in these guys were so polite helpful and pleasant. Couldn't praise them enough. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. Cheap and cheerful.
5589aayushijMe and my partner got married at the City Rooms for a really sentimental reason. My parents got married there and so did my aunty! We planned our wedding within 6 weeks and I honestly cannot compliment the venue and the staff enough. Beth and Emily (our contacts) were just so amazing in absolutely everything. We were of course overwhelmed by planning a wedding in such a short space of time but they took EVERYTHING off our plates and when our family/friends asked where they can help, our answer to everything was “the venue is looking after this”..they have built such an amazing relationship with all of the different suppliers and worked with everyone so well, it’s as if nothing was ever too much. Beth is such an amazing planner and we felt sooo comfortable with her, explaining our vision, what we wanted on the day, how we wanted things to work out..Emily was fairly new at this point and again the most helpful. We were able to drop things off to the venue earlier, the whole team treated us with so much love that we will never forget how amazing this day worked out to be! The food was incredible on the day and 4 months after our wedding, we are receiving so much positive feedback from our guests and I would highly recommend the crispy bhajia as that’s the one dish all of our guests can’t get over! Thanks again to the whole team for such an incredible day ❤️ we will never forget how much you did for us and how you made us both feel at ease. We did not expect the support you all handed to us when we booked the venue and we couldn’t have planned our wedding without all of your efforts!
We were travelling as a band, group of 6. Had travelled from Glasgow to Nottingham the previous day to play a gig, then onto Leicester and London. The owner had phoned the previous day to inform us that there was a problem with one of the rooms, seemed very polite and apologetic and would organise accommodation elsewhere for 2 of our group. We were fine with this. However, upon arrival we were informed by the guy managing the place currently (as the owner was out with some health related issues) that we all had rooms there. The rooms were open and keys were in the drawers. We went upstairs and only the 3 bed room was made up and another guest was still staying in one of the rooms and was out at work so we wouldn't get that room until later. Our group all hung out in the 3 bed waiting on the other room being made up. The ”manager” stood at the door of the room for over an hour talking nonsense and sharing details that no-one needed to hear instead of making up the other room. The worst possible scenario when you've just travelled 6+ hours and played a gig the previous night. The ”manager” took 2 of our party into the 2 bed room to get it made up (no reason for this, just wanted to talk more nonsense). The 2 bed room had obvious signs of water damage (most likely the room the owner had phoned the previous day about). Brown damp spot on the ceiling in the corner of the room, the wallpaper peeling off the wall and the room smelled awful. Previous guests things were still in the drawers. One of the beds in this room got made up in that time and he had to leave to get another sheet, never came back. Our group decided to just get out of the place for the time being. We arrived back later to pick up our gear to go soundcheck at the venue down the road and the rest of the rooms had been made up. We returned later that night and couldn't get in the front door so we phoned the number asking to call for access. This was the owners number I had spoke with the day before and he sounded genuinely surprised that we hadn't been given the access code. We got in and went upstairs before going to bed, on of the boys flipped his pillow and found what appeared to be blood stains on the pillowcase. We all slept on top of the duvets that night in our clothes because we didn't trust that anything was clean and got up early the next morning to leave as soon as possible to head for London. We had booked the breakfast in advance but we didn't want to chance that either knowing what state the rooms were in. Overall, an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. Would not book again given this experience and anyone looking to I would hesitate until the owner manages to sort out the problems with staff and the condition of the place. It's a shame because I'm not sure the owner actually knows how the place is currently being run.
Re Hotel provided for “a national company” the accommodation was unsafe, unfinished and unfit for purpose. To be clear; I have been in the construction industry for 33 years and I am currently the service delivery manager of 16 years with this company, accountable for the Responsive Repairs, maintenance and Voids properties for “a national housing provider”and “a national company” fire compliance work through our other FRA departments & Fire Safety work across the country. The hotel in question Blaby Westfield House Hotel is truly an appalling hotel provided by Agiito web site options. On entering the car park, the front entrance windows blinds were hanging down off the windows, after I parked, the reception was to the side of the building. On entering the reception, I could smell and feel the dust in the air. There were patches of bare plaster on the walls where the walls had been repaired, I understand thing need repairing so I walk to reception and gave my reservation. I was greeted by the reception person who took my reservation and informed there was no breakfast as the chief was on holiday (I was informed at the time of booking there was no breakfast) therefore I asked is the chief back next week? to which the recreationist stated, ”we don’t know he has been gone a long time”. So now I am thinking what?? I continued my booking and received room number 102 which is situated in the main house building above the front entrance. After walking up and around several corridors through several fire doors which I guarantee are not certified under fire regulations (I am fully versed in the requirements for fire doors and fire safety of buildings). As I walked to my room again around another small corridor the hard-wired fire alarm had a yellow empty tile grouting bucket on the floor as I focused on the bucket, I then realised water was running into the bucket as I looked up it was running out of the fire alarm sensor into the bucket!!! I returned downstairs and informed the receptionist who said, ” Yes it’s the water tank in the loft is leaking the man was meant to fix it last week but it’s still leak, and he hasn't returned yet.” Therefore, there has been no working fire alarm at this hotel for over a week!!! Another breach of Fire Regulations and hotel safety regulations. I asked so when is the Fire Alarms going to be fixed? and the receptionist shrugged his shoulders and stated “I don’t know”!!! The appalling condition and false advertising of this hotel doesn't stop at the complete failure of all Hotel fire Safety Regulations. I was sent to the bar while the receptionist went to get what I can only assume was the manager, I was asked could I go down the ground floor corridor to the bar / restraint area. I walked down the corridor as requested to find myself in the front reception bar/restaurant area, yes where the blind are hanging off the windows, once on the inside looked like a building site!!! The receptionist then came down the corrido
