My first trip post pandemic. Hastings is a place I always stay when I go to Boston for business. I like the historic location, the style of hotel that’s more like a B&B, as well as the great restaurant.
This stay was 80% of what I expected. Interesting room with great amenities and dinner in the restaurant and service was excellent, as usual.
The check-in was uninspiring and generic. Not an overly enthusiastic “welcome” and the same was for check out, when the desk person finally arrived.
The biggest disappointment was the “breakfast”. It was similar to the check in and check out, uninspiring and no attention. “Continental” with No Juice and I had to go down 3 tines for coffee.
COVID gets a bad rap for poor service and details you expect from a hotel of this caliber.
