Enjoyed our stay--room a bit dated but clean and of course the breakfast was great as always--in Lincoln at the Embassy Suites until we got our bill. I then noticed an increased charge of $58. I had to call the hotel 3 times before I spoke with someone who couldn't help me but she opened a case regarding my complaint. The next day I got an email from someone in accounting who said the extra charge ($25 per night) was for an extra guest in the room besides me. But because I wasn't aware of this they would adjust to reflect the amount I had on my reservation. I had added my spouse when I made the reservation so I scanned my reservation form where his name was listed as a 2nd guest (so 2 people right from the initial reservation). I sent the scan back to the person in accounting and pointed out that I had made the reservation for 2 and asked for a management response. Of course nothing back from management. It was clear they just made up an excuse to justify the overcharge. So BEWARE and check your credit card receipt to make sure you were billed per your reservation. I have never had this happen to me at any other Embassy Suites and in fact would usually have 2 or 3 of my kids with us when we traveled and never were charged per person in the room. I can only conclude this property is trying to gouge its guests.

JJohn CFront desk folks were awesome. Room 316, last room available, had an excessive loud noise. My 30 years' experience with HVAC systems told me it had something to do with an air exchange unit just above us on the roof. Front desk Nick came up and confirmed it. Nick said after calling management that it was too late in the day to repair it but if i meet with management in the morning, they would reduce my room rate. Manager Hunter Paden did finally show up at 1000. told me that he could not, would not reduce the room rate. He stated that some people simply complain about the noise from the AC unit that time of year. Would like to see what was done about the noise that sounded like a B52 bomber was landing on the roof. Extremely poor management exhibited by boy Paden!
We stayed at Horizon on our way to and from a trip to Colorado. We chose this hotel basically because of the low price. That could be a real risk, considering where many low-cost hotels are located. This hotel is not in a bad neighborhood as someone else commented on. It is right off I-80 near the airport and very easy to find. Because of their location, there is nowhere to really get out for a nice walk after traveling a long time. There are some gas stations nearby. We chose to go to town to find a good restaurant to eat at... and there are places within a 10 minute's drive. Staff is friendly and helpful! Rooms are very clean. The beds are a bit firm, but comfortable. Wifi actually worked. The in-room compact refrigerator was handy to keep our things from spoiling. Good water pressure made for a decent shower. One thing they could improve, perhaps, are the towels and washcloths were a bit on the scratchy side. The A/C worked very well. The entire hotel was well kept. Breakfast is definitely a continental style breakfast. They had a waffle maker for those who enjoy something more than cereal, bagels, etc. Noise levels being near an airport? We had no airport noise whatsoever during either stay. Would we stay here again if we had the opportunity? Sure would. Appears to be family owned and we support small businesses any chance we get. Thank you for a good nights' sleep, Horizon! Ya did good!!
Cclutz777The beds were good and the room was clean. Shower worked well. Just what we were looking for at a good price. I'm now continuing to type because I need 200 characters , which seems a little ridiculous to me. It was a hotel room not buying buying a new house! 29 characters to go Room was clean
