錢普尼斯森林小湖酒店(Champneys Forest Mere)

Relaxing and magical. Dropped our worries at the door and chillaxed on the 2-night stay. Staff very attentive, especially Claudine who went above and beyond to sort out our bookings when we checked in and out. Have re-booked our next trip thank you Champneys.

A huge shout out to ALL the fabulous fitness team! Everyone is so absolutely amazing and helpful. Stuart my PT who is putting me through my paces, Wendy the best hula hoop and line dancing teacher ever, Jodie the ace stretch lady, Jack with his incredible Pulse Roll class (which totally improved my downward dog in the yoga class that followed!) The super apprentice who I’ve nicknamed “the best arm exercise guy”. The lovely receptionist on the fitness desk helping me book on classes when my app doesn’t work. Then there’s the fabulous team on main reception who are always so friendly and cheerful - Claudine who let me know about the 30% - forever friends LOL! The wonderful team in the shop - so many great offers on the many wondrous things. The superb team in the orangery for the banter as well as the best lattes in town. And upstairs where you can book a selection of treatments, all the staff are so helpful. Huge thank you to Frank who gives the best massage and also an insightful reflexology treatment. Totally love this resort and highly recommend ❤️

What could have been a disasterous trip was made much better by Emily H in reception on the arrivals and departures desk. I had so many issues with Champneys, but she sorted them all out and made our trip in the spa much better and a nicer experience than I was expecting

I went for Day spa and my experience was fantastic from the moment I checked in at reception was outstanding every single staff member was exceptional from Reception Team to Restaurant Team . I had a full Body massage which was fantastic the therapist was extremely good and the welcome breakfast was just what the body need so was the Body needs also the relaxing facilities which included waterbeds are absolute out standing Poll the same overall you could not ask form much more the entire hotel and spa is fantastic To Everyone thank you so much for a perfect day Thank you Manfred

From the minute we arrived we felt an automatic peace, check in was lovely and smooth, we were provided all the information we needed to enjoy our stay and most importantly given our flip flops and robes for our stay, alongside the fluffiest dreamiest robe which felt like we were in a cloud. We were taken to our room and helped with our bags, to our delight our room was overlooking the lake which was breathtakingly beautiful. Dinner was amazing - the food and service could not be faulted. Marius took great care of us throughout our stay and ensured we had all that we needed. We took advantage of using the facilities in the evening before dinner which I would highly recommend as it was nice and quiet. All the areas felt clean, and everyone just seemed to be in a little bubble of pure happiness. After a great nights sleep (and I must add the mattress was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever stayed in) we woke up and decided to go for a nice woodland walk of which we borrowed the wellies which you can find in the boot room by the fitness team. We then had breakfast, followed by a lovely coffee and cake late morning overlooking the lake - beautiful, and lucky to have some nice April weather on our side. We had a treatment of which I went for the facial. It was lovely and relaxing and the therapist gave great knowledge of the products she was using throughout. Raili and her team make this place super special and a lovely place to create memories. We reluctantly checked out but we will be back!

We were really excited to visit this venue, the Champneys name comes with a great reputation which, unfortunately, it did not live up to. The pool area was so overcrowded, it was noisy - like being at your local sports centre! There was nowhere to sit, multiple things out of order and the outdoor jacuzzi was cold. All 4 of us had treatments and all of them were terrible. I had a facial and I left in tears because my therapist was so unprofessional and rude. I have also come out in bruises where she was being so rough massaging me - which was odd as I was having a facial, not a deep tissue massage! We left before dinner to prevent further disappointment. The best thing about our experience was the check-in staff - the lady 'in training' was on her name badge, not sure why she doesn't deserve to have her actual name on her?! But she was amazing, so funny, bubbly and just lovely. I will say that Champneys have dealt with the complaint very well, both on the night by the manager and the following couple of days, we have received a full refund, but I still do want to share our experience.

3 night stay over a weekend with friends. Thankful it was a half price deal as I would not of been happy if I had paid full price ! Positives - food (could not fault it) and the spa staff and treatments were great Negatives - bed hogging - no staff removing left towels !! Service at lunch and breakfast surrounded by dirty tables. Pool area was incredibly busy with no comfy seats free. cold room and sauna broken. Loose tiles around the pool, thermal pool out of order. In desperate need of an overhaul in my view.

Just had a spa day here at forestmere, after reading other reviews I was a bit worried. The day was fantastic, from the attentive staff, especially Jane on reception and Angelica the therapist . The welcome snacks and drinks were far more than we expected great choice and beautiful room overlooking the grounds. The pool area with the sauna and quiet rooms were very busy but my friend and I always managed to find a place to sit and relax and chat. We found it to be clean and the staff were constantly tidying around. The lunch menu was a great choice and presented beautifully. We found all but one thing in working order which was the jacuzzi, but this did not ruin our day. We booked on an offer and feel it was real value for money. Can’t wait to return.!

Really Disappointed. Me and my husband booked a last minute trip for 1 night. Very excited as Champneys is meant to be absolutely lovely. Upon arrival the check in process was smooth and the staff professional and friendly. Room was basic but quite nice,bed comfy and big,the bathroom was very dated and needs a serious renovation. I went to take a tissue out of the wall box and it fell off,the shower kept dripping. Very average room. The keycard also stopped working so had to walk back to reception which is annoying. The Spa- extremely disappointed. It’s extremely poor. No beds at all to lay and read/chill which is what I really wanted to do and the ones they do have are all reserved for members only. But even then there’s literally about 4 in the pool area. The alternative is ikea looking deck chairs packed all round the edges of the pool with zero space to move,people constantly want to walk past and you literally have to tuck your legs in to let them past.Ice room wasn’t working,the outside jacuzzi was COLD,we got out straight away. The indoor jacuzzis also cold & only one side of the jets actually work on one. We sat in the sauna and the bench moved like it was about to fall off the hinges. Pool is nice but would be better smaller to actually accommodate more beds so people can relax and lay down. I’ve been to plenty of spas where you lay,chill and get a nice herbal drink- theres none of that. It was more like my local gyms pool area. Dinner- really nice I had the chicken it was lovely,wine was around £10 a glass and tasted not so great,also the coffee at bf wasn’t nice at all. There’s zero atmosphere in the restaurant we had dinner and went back to the room for our bottle of Prosecco we brought. Didn’t bother to swim etc the morning we left as the area just isn’t relaxing. Gym small but nice. Reception area is nice and modern as is the restaurant but it’s small. A outside pool is advertised but it’s like a dirty pond and has been left very neglected. We wouldn’t go back unfortunately,didn’t have treatments so can’t comment on that. Tips- take your own cofee,drink (if wanted) but if a lush spa day is what you want I would go elsewhere. We had a nice time having a night off our busy home life but left feeling very disappointed with the overall place. I had high hopes so it’s a real shame.
