This is in the middle of a housing estate as seems to be the case with lots of visitor attractions too in the area Great for visiting Hopetoun Midhope Blackness Craigmillar Linlithgow The Kelpies and Falkirk wheel .... Comfortable clean hotel in lovely wooded area. Woke up to deer in the grounds.Staff were friendly but don't really listen to you if you comment negatively The hotel was still following " covid" protocol but they don't tell you this so room was not equipped for our 5 night stay and was not serviced which we didn't mind as don't need clean towels bed made etc BUT had to ask for the loo roll shower gel tea bags etc ps hate UHT milk! It just didn't quite get there even though the staff were nice there is just something lacking here Like pancakes with fruit for breakfast- they had no fruit even though there is a convenience store selling it 2 mins away and a supermarket 5 mins away And they are open as a bistro for breakfast lunch and dinner - It's not a budget hotel @ £145 per night so you expect them to have what's offered We did seem to be the only guests for most of our time there but there were lots of non residents coming In Evening meals we had twice were fine but again lacking ingredients listed on menu Train station only 2 mins away with easy access to Edinburgh much cheaper than the £4.75 ph car parking, so if you want somewhere as a base it's great but they just need more attention to details Would not rate it 4 star very good but it is better than a average 3 star

The hotel is nice and clean.we got our starters not bad,one was a bit oily the calamari.our mains courses took ages to arrive and the waitress a bit slow.Fish was not bad but chips a bit stodgy.Got a dessert not what expected as on the menu,ice cream not great.we won’t be back not great food and overpriced menu.

Had a lively hot meal served with efficiency and grace. We shared the haggis with whisky sauce and had the steak pie pot which came accompanied by the best ever hot chips and broccoli and carrots. The latter were seriously undercooked and I do like my veg al dente, but these were well undercooked. Couldn’t eat anymore so didn’t order dessert.

Went to Bankton house this old hotel but Very nice and quirky and has good potential to make a wedding venue special or evening meal with family and friends The food was okay and good selection of drinks which can be very useful when you are in a party star friendly nothing too much trouble

飯店價格過高，服務品質差。歐陸式早餐真的非常非常差……只有工業粉和三明治麵包，咖啡機簡直不能喝……還有剩下的時候可能還有果汁，但是每天都數不完。不進行清潔工作。至於餐廳，我能說什麼......這是幾乎不能食用的重新加熱的食物，不要要麵包！他要嘔吐

Lovely place in a beautiful setting. Will be nice place to sit out in the summer. We Even saw a baby deer in the gardens. Very clean and fresh decor. Service was first class. Not a very extensive menu and limited for vegetarians but couldn’t fault our food…..was really fresh and tasty.

Excellent food and friendly, professional service in a beautiful setting. The facilities were clean and of a very high standard. Visited for a family birthday and we received a very warm welcome. Sitting by the log fire added to the experience. I would highly recommend it.

Loved the Bankton. Room was clean, beds comfy and coffee machine was just what was needed. Bathroom was lovely. Lunch and dinner in the bistro were amazing, food was delicious. Staff were wonderful and attentive, typical of a family run business, even though Saturday was very busy. Continental breakfast was in a bag in a wee room downstairs. Took it back upstairs to the room, Granola pot was lovely. Would definitely return.

Had afternoon tea in the conservatory. One of the nicest I’ve had and I’ve sampled a few. Sandwiches freshly made and more than enough of everything for the four of us. Went home with a doggy bag. The staff were very attentive and I can honestly say no complaints. Ten of us visited again for afternoon tea in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. A wee gem on our doorstep.

Unmanned building, no common areas to use, no reception, no breakfast, intruder alarms going off as house not secure, no receipt given when deposit made, rude aggressive staff, worst of all one of the general managers questioned my disability? Checked in for two day stay and within a few hours checked out, totally unacceptable to call this a hotel.

We visted with friends on June 29th for dinner. First of all I wish to say that we really enjoyed our visit and will defintely return. This is a lovely restaurant and great value for money. I leave the following feedback in the hope that it will improve further and be an amazing dining experience. 1) If serving room temperature Rose wine (in a cooler granted but room temp nontheless) please check with the customers that they are happy with this in case they would prefer an alternative that is chilled. I think it's safe to say most people expect Rose wine to be chilled when served. 2) In my experience a Caesar salad always has croutons. Again if none available please let the customer know. 3) Cocktails are good value however my Pina Colada just tasted like Pineapple Juice. If the alcohol measure is small maybe include less pineapple juice so it can be tasted - or increase the price and alcohol content. The feedback from others in my group was that their choices of cocktail (espresso martini) was also not very good. Something to work on I think. Please take this feedback in the spirit it is intended. We want to come back and will come back and it would be great if the experience could be even better. Thanks.

A hidden gem in Livingston. High quality pub grub with friendly service. We made a night of it and had drinks in the cosy bar before moving through to the bistro for dinner. Both areas are welcoming and nicely decorated which gives a relaxed atmosphere. Honestly a great wee place.

Would not recommend. No one there to greet us and left alone in hotel at night, apart from other guests who were staying. Stains on bedding and no hot or cold food available on site apart from little goodie bag with. Bottle of juice and muffin (if I remember rightly). We didn’t feel safe during the night with there not being a member of staff present overnight as it’s in a dark secluded area. Will not stay there again as it was very expensive.

We went here for Christmas Eve family meal. The child in our party has a severe egg allergy. I wanted this area and contacted two or three places. This hotel’s response was very positive. Also there is an extensive bistro menu on offer as well as the festive menu. Some pizzas are egg-free - ideal for a child with this issue. They also have a vegan ice cream. Staff were attentive and pleasant, and certainly on the ball regarding the allergy. Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas. Food was very tasty. It is so close to Livingston Shopping Centre, worth a visit rather than the usual fast food outlets. Prices are very reasonable. Despite being tucked away it is easy to reach. We will certainly be back now we have found this gem!
