What a fantastic Zambian welcome at Protea Marriot Hotel. From the lovely Ireen and Natasha at reception who were warm and interested in our adventures each day, to our spotless room cleaned by Forstina to great conversations and service from David, Raymond and Everisto to the plentiful and tasty cuisine provided by a team of excellent chefs …. I could go on and on - just wonderful service from every member of staff we came across!! Best 3 night break in a long time ; wonderful decor and ambience and world class service - you will be more than satisfied if you pick this hotel 10/10 and Zikomo 👏🏾
This hotel was excellent ! The location was right on the Zambezi River. The accommodation was in chalets which very spacious and clean. Shower and bathroom were high spec. Restaurant was an open air bar style overlooking the river. Menu fantastic. In the evening there was entertainment. Staff extremely professional and welcoming. 15 mins drive to Victoria Falls. Can book many excursions direct from reception. I opted for the Zambezi River Cruise, where the cruise departs from the hotel. Would go back again.
What an amazing stay, you are greeted with traditional drumming and singing which was very welcoming. The hotel is very colonial and if that’s what you enjoy you will love the royal Livingstone. We were greeted by a lovely lady from Botswana who explained everything to us, she was very friendly and professional, she also gave us a refreshing traditional Zambian hibiscus drink. The grounds are breathtaking with direct views of the great Zambezi river as it is right on the banks of it, you can see the Mosi Oa Tunya in action from the hotel as the smoke looms around and over the falls on a clear day, beautiful animals roam freely around the grounds which was just a wonderful sight to witness. The room was very nice, comfortable bed and huge balcony overlooking the grounds and the Zambezi. For our first night we opted to eat at Mukuni Boma which is a restaurant serving more traditional dishes such as nshima, rice, impwa, chikanda, visashe, kapenta, Vinkubala, fried fish, along with various stews and grilled meats, there was a great selection for desserts too, this restaurant was the highlight of my time at the Royal Livingstone. There was a live showcase of traditional Zambian dancing and singing from a few different tribes in Zambia. This was a magical night. We ate at Zubu restaurant and I was not impressed with the food, the service was amazing but the food was a huge let down it was very tasteless in my opinion, but if you like bland and unseasoned food you will enjoy dining there. We also had cocktails at the bar a few times and I thought it was only right to try the Mosi Oa Tunya cocktail and it was devine, it was perfectly mixed each time. That was my favourite cocktail there but there were many that were just as good. Most of the staff members were excellent and I wish I could remember the young lady hostess we encountered during breakfast service that was actually very rude to us for what ever reason, it’s not a good look for the hotel because that one employee can spoil how everyone sees the rest of the staff and most of the other staff were absolutely lovely, just that one bad seed. Overall a good experience and I would encourage people to go even for one night.
訪訪客We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Ngoma Zanga Lodge, Caroline and Kennedy are both so friendly and welcoming, they went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable stay and were always willing to help in any way they could to make our holiday perfect. The property is really well maintained and kept clean, the decor in the rooms, reception area and dining room/bar is lovely and authentic and the pool area is beautiful. Load-shedding is a new issue in Zambia however the staff had managed to adapt and minimise the issues that it caused and a generator was installed by the owner a few days before we left. We wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend Ngoma Zanga Lodge!
訪訪客It is perfectly located within 5 minutes walk into the Livingstone City Centre. It has friendly and hard working staff; very helpful too. The rooms are clean, comfortable and homely. The facility has very good internet. However, consider having mosquito nets in your rooms for Livingstone is mosquito infested.
