We have been to Ty'n Rhos several times and had various rooms all of which have been very well furnished and comfortable. I really cannot accept the poor reviews from some people on this website, given our experience and they have also had many celebrities stay. The latter must have visited on recommendation as famous people like discreet service and I am sure that is what they got from the team here. We find it homely, welcoming well furnished and clean and although a limited changing menu the food is very good. In North Wales you could not stay at a better hotel if you want informality, good food, lovely management and staff and within a short distance of many tourist attractions.

Endroit à la fois raffiné et cosy, très bien situé pour explorer l'île d'Anglesey d'un côté et la région du Snowdomia de l'autre en passant par une visite au château de Caernarfon situé à quelques kilomètres. Les chambres sont très spacieuses et extrêmement propres et très calmes. La mienne disposait d'une belle vue sur la campagne environnante. L'hôtel dispose aussi d'espaces de vie très agréables pour prendre un café ou un verre. Le restaurant est vraiment extraordinaire. La nourriture y est très raffinée et saine. Je vous conseille le homard local du jour ou la trilogie autour de la betterave rouge. Le petit-déjeuner y est aussi très bien. Personnel efficace.

We stayed in Ty’n Rhos for 3 nights. We attended a family funeral and decided to visit memorable places. The staff were exceedingly welcoming and helpful. The evening meals were delicious. There is parking onsite. It is close to Caenarfon and Bangor, making it conveniently located to visit the area.

This was a return visit and we very much appreciated the room upgrade. The hotel is tucked away in the countryside providing a relaxing venue, but also an ideal location for visiting Snowdonia, Anglesey and many attractions within 30 minutes drive. The staff are very attentive offering advice when required and the restaurant offers a variety of meals of a good quality. A quality hotel whether you are looking for a special occasion venue or a peaceful location for a relaxing break.

We had Afternoon Tea at Ty'n Rhos on my Mother's 85th Birthday this afternoon. I had been in touch to request our particular kind of sandwiches, namely egg, salmon ( tin) and cheese and onion, different to the ones on the Menu. They were fresh and delicious. The Cakes, scone with jam and cream, small dessert were also lovely, exceptional creme brulee. The tea was strong as requested, made with loose leaf tea, perfect. An enjoyable afternoon, with good service and welcome. Also good company. I have had many, many Afternoon Teas, from Claridges in London to more local. This one is the best I have had, for many reasons, it was wonderful. Also we had plenty of room to relax and it was quite private, as I prefer. We will be back. Diolch yn fawr.

Very nice country inn near Snowdonia, Bangor and the Isle of Anglesey. Access for sightseeing to all of these areas is excellent. Stay for several days to adequately explore as much as you can. The restaurant has alternating menus for dinner e.g. the same menu on Wednesday/Friday and a different menu for Thursday/Saturday. They'll make a lunch to take for your hikes etc. They also have a great breakfast included with your stay. The restaurant staff was great..... Phil especially. One word of caution though..... don't ask Phil for a Pinot Grigio! Hilary and her entire staff made our stay fantastic.

This country house is a charmer. We stayed with friends for three nights in ground floor rooms with patios over looking the koi pond. Our room was very well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. We had two delicious dinners ~ originally had dinner reservations for only one night but quickly decided to have dinner there again! Breakfasts were more than ample and also delicious. What we all enjoyed the most at Ty'n Rhos was the staff - Hilary, Phil, Laura, George, and Mabon to name a few. They were all gracious, accommodating, extremely fun to visit with, and attentive to our needs. They made us feel so welcome and at home. We would certainly stay at Ty'n Rhos again. Wonderfull visit!

I don’t know if this is the best afternoon tea in North Wales, but it is definitely the best afternoon tea I have had in North Wales, and I’ve had plenty! Everything about this tea was top quality from the loose leaf tea, indulgently filled tasty, soft sandwiches to the exquisite patisseries. Not to mention the scone with its homemade compote. The stand out item was the warm onion tart. Oh my. I loved it. Plus more fresh tea and a complimentary Prosecco!!! Plus charming, attentive service. This afternoon tea comes heavily recommended. And, if it’s a sunny afternoon, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Ty'n Rhos Country House Hotel is a 5* boutique hotel of the highest order. Better than any other I have stayed in across Britain. Family run, with the owner very hands-on each day and her excellent design and creativity has made each room special. The staff, all hand-picked by her, are like a family and nothing is too much trouble (in fact the owner's by-word is just that). Five star service and facilities, but never presumptuous. Set in lovely countryside, with large grounds and gardens overlooking Menai Straits and Anglesey Island, it is peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. Breakfasts, Afternoon tea and dinner are all home made on site, and will fill you up. We stayed last year and came back again this year. We plan to come again next year (very unlike us to keep going back to the same place, but this is so special you will want to).

Have you ever heard of afternoon tea served with Scones with the jam and cream already on the scone. Excuse me but how do you know that everybody likes jam and cream on their scones. Have had afternoon tea's all over the UK even in Kensington Palace but never with the jam and cream already on. We didn't eat them as we don't like jam piled on our scones quite disgusting really. You need to get with the Programme and serve the jam and cream in separate pots. Needless to say we will not be returning

I wondered if the negative reviewers had actually stayed at a different place to us.We have stayed twice now and at different times of the year. Location;hotel;decor; ambience;rooms;comfort; food all EXCELLENT. The owners and ALL the staff are so friendly and definitely want to please.They went that extra mile to help us and ensure that we had a great stay. We will definitely be staying again without hesitation.

This country house hotel is an absolute jewel. From the moment we stepped inside the door we felt at home. The hotel is warm and cosy. The staff are extremely professional and welcoming. Our room was immaculate. Big soft bath towels, lovely local toiletries. Very comfy bed. We had a three course dinner and wine pairing, which was excellent. All in all I would highly recommend staying here, be it for a night when "passing through" or for a longer holiday. We'll definitely be back!

We visited the hotel on the 27th December. When we arrived we noticed that reception was very shabby quite unclean. We booked one of their suites at the hotel, supposed to be five stars. We were very disappointed with the overall condition of the room. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Toilet seat with chips all looked very shabby. We only ended up staying one night on what was supposed to be 3 night package which was very disappointing as we had travelled along way. Our night was horrendous due to the mattress was like sleeping on Wood. The room was freezing cold as well. We had a storm which is not the problem of the hotel. It’s the weather, but the Window next to the bed was absolutely howling all night with nothing in the window to protect the noise from being so bad wind coming through the blind that didn’t shut. When we checked out, we didn’t even receive an apology. Our trip has been a complete waste of time money and effort.

An extremely beautiful and peaceful location with all sightseeing places nearby. The hotel is very lovely and the staff friendly/welcoming. When booking in, you are assisted with any luggage and given a little tour of the hotel, then shown to your room which was great. All very relaxed. The service at dinner is second to none and the food at both dinner and breakfast amazing. Would recommend eating here if you are not staying but can book in for dinner. There were a lot of little additions in the room that were appreciated.
