Die Lage des New Inn ist sehr schön, in einem Tal , umgeben von Bergen, das Essen und trinken sowie die Leute hinter dem Tresen in dem urigen Pub war echt gut. das war leider auch alles an Positivem , was ich berichten kann. Hier ist seit Jahren nichts in die Zimmer investiert worden. Wir hatten drei Zimmer , in einem lagen noch die Handtücher des Vormieters, in dem anderen wird der Schrank seit langer Zeit als Ablage für alles mögliche benutzt, im letzten Zimmer waren noch benutzte Kaffebecher und ein Kännchen mit Milch, das mehrere Tage offen da schon gestanden haben muss. dazu noch durchgelegene Matratzen absolut keine Empfehlung, fahrt lieber eine Stunde länger in ein anderes Hotel

Room was stunning spotless clean some of the nicest bar staff couldn’t go above more for you Room had everything you needed and more

Excellent rural village pub with comfortable rooms and hearty homemade food. Beautiful scenery throughout the year.

We stayed on a Saturday night after a day's walk from Lake Vyrnwy along Pererindod Melangell. The bar was buzzing and had a lovely busy atmosphere when we arrived — it felt like the whole village was there! The room was clean, warm and pleasant; no frills but had everything we needed. It took a few minutes to run hot water through to the sink and shower; also only one bar of soap, but no issue as we had our own toiletries. Some noise late into the night but not too bad with the window closed — we slept fine as we were tired from walking! Food was substantial and enjoyable. Excellent value; would recommend and will come again if we're in the area.

Awful place. Rude owner, disinterested staff, horrible food, breakfast juices fizzing with sediment as they're so out of date, crap singing into the early hours (thought the Welsh were good), dilapidated room like a scene from Hostel, bar manager told to me to get a drink from an outside tap like a hound while already ordering drinks at the bar. Bloomin' awful, presh.

Myself and disabled daughter im also disabled drove down from edinburgh to see my dad who is in a nursing home , we got lost and time was getting late we phoned to ask for any help and all we got was the owner / manager laugh with his friends and say he cudnt understand our stupid accent, then when i realised this man was disgusting i wanted my money back , luckily my sister stays in wales she helped me find hotel as i had no choice , room was terrible whole place was and woken up by a load of bikers !! Never ever book this place only good thing was barmaid, food and LEAVING

The New Inn is a very old pub, and it could be charming. Unfortunately it is quite dirty with sticky tables. I ordered a baked potato with chilli and cheese which was large but overcooked. There was a small amount of chilli and cheese, and once that was gone you have a fairly dry potato. I had to ask for butter. The first table that I sat at rocked badly and I spilled some of my drink. It felt like a missed opportunity in such an interesting old building, and it was fairly busy. Maybe it gets enough passing trade for the landlord not to have to worry about enticing people back.

Untidy, menu grubby, prices increased by £2 a dish when ordering. "Haven't round to redoing them" was tge answer. Food actually perfectly acceptable. Cask ales all off (i e out if stock)

Please please stay away horrendous experience ! Should have a health and safety Inspection ! 100 💯 not safe ! Food frozen ! Dirty cutlery cups kettles all filthy ! Toilets not fit for purpose do not flush Needs a deep clean and full refurbishment owner good on lip service But does not deliver on his promises Will never return we could not wait to leave ! How this place has not shut down is beyond unbelievable Food Hygiene alone is enough to warrant a visit by Gordon Ramsey ! The Hotel From Hell!

I spent a lot of my childhood in Llangynog and have had some great meals at the New Inn over the years. Today, instead of cheese and broccoli pasta bake, we got a few tiny pieces of broccoli and potato in cheese sauce. When I said that there was no pasta in it, I was told that they hadn’t got any!! Whilst we were eventually offered a replacement meal, we did not have the time to wait due to a long journey home. We were offered pudding but only one of us eats sugary deserts. £50 spent and disappointed.

Lovely location, great food and the addition of Indian food was amazing. All freshly cooked. Rooms are as advertised as a two star. Di the owner could not be more helpful. Breakfast has no menu, you can have what you want and all freshly cooked. Prices are so reasonable. We will be back.

Stay well away, dirty needs updating. Food terrible, didn’t bother having breakfast, Put off with the way the place was run, Staff didn’t seem to care, Was asked if we would like to stay in The Cottage, Walked in and straight back out again, Also needs updating Badly. Food left in drawer from a recent quest, The Landlord removed the food and put it in his own fridge, his words were they ain’t out of date, Will definitely not be returning…

There are pros and cons to booking somewhere last minute; just getting away was our priority for a weekend in August and wanting to be near-ish to Bala, there weren't many late options. And it may be that we also had the last room at the New Inn.... On the positive side: easy to find, safe parking, friendly staff*, a good village pub with fine beer an ok-menu. Plus, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and (after hours; there's noise from the pub, fair enough) the peace was superb. Good two nights' sleep for sure. On the negative: Room 2 is tired, worn out even, in dire need of some very simple upgrades. There was one bedside lamp, not two. A slightly 'damp' smell, which can be fixed with regular opening of windows and a spot of 'Glade'. There was a kettle, but we had to ask for mugs and some milk to go with the tea bags, which might have been there for a while. And RM2 has the smallest of en suite bathrooms, where you could have hot water or water pressure in the shower, but not both at the same time. This too had visible evidence a lack of airing, eg the mould. Mrs H said words to the effect that they may have forgotten we were coming or, it was like visiting the aunt who knew you were coming sometime, wasn't sure which weekend, and was then surprised that you'd brought your girlfriend with you and hadn't prepared the double room. All of which to say that this could be so much better - and perhaps the other rooms are already. At £70 a night, we didn't expect very much, but were still left a bit disappointed. And I guess this is the dilemma - I'd have gladly paid another £30 a night for this location (even the same room) if it were modernised. But that might not be enough short-term to cover the costs of that modernisation. To be honest, it didn't look imminent. (*ps - and we suspect that when we asked for the B+B wifi password, rather than the pub's version, fibs were told. Pub wifi was very good, room wifi was almost non-existent, despite the presence of a booster in the room, right on the bedside table. Now, because we have the same set up in our own home, I knew which of the strong BT signals on my mobile wifi related to that booster in the room. And it wasn't the pub one. If you're going to say there's no wifi in the rooms, please remove the evidence to the contrary. Diolch).

Friendly bar staff welcomed us on our arrival. Stayed here as our son had a Motorcross Day with Mick Extance who is based in the same village therefore very convenient location. Food ok, lots of choice, expensive for what it was. Drinks well priced. Pool table at 50p kept our boys amused. Adequate accommodation for what we paid. Sheets were clean, furniture/interior dated. Agree with other reviews where not to expect too much when paying budget prices.
