諾丁丘 - 首都(Notting Hill Hotel by Capital)

Arrivée très simple et en pleine nuit (merci les retards avec Ryanair) vu le système de code envoyé via booking. La chambre est vraiment minuscule et sent le renfermé. Heureusement que la clim permet de renouveler l'air ! La salle de bain est plus qu'étroite et pas du tout bien pensée. Le pomme de douche mérite un bon gros nettoyage. Les couleurs de l'hôtel ne sont pas des plus propres non plus... les murs sont très A 5 minutes à pieds du métro et de petits magasins permettant de prendre le petit déjeuner. Vraiment dommage que la qualité ne soit pas au rendez-vous mais le prix défie toute concurrence.

Area was quiet and walkable with a train station close by. But the AC was not working and the carpet in the room was not very clean. The mattress was also not great - it was two single mattresses put together to make a double bed and the springs were coming out. There was also no staff present at the hotel.

Smell of damp. Clothes smelt of damp from wardrobe. Mould in shower. Shower head fixed and dirt unable to use Very dusty No security No staff Curtains fixed could not draw no daylight 1 hand towel 2 people 2 nights AVOID AT ALL COSTS !

When my boyfriend and I arrived to the front door of the hotel the first thing I said was: "is this it?!". I wish I'd taken a picture but the unassuming door on a grubby stoop up the side of the street looked very shady. You opened it by accessing the buzzer and find yourself at the foot of a grotty set of metal stairs (litter and grime could be seen beneath them). Once you ascend them you arrive at an attempt at a roof terrace (cheap plastic deck chairs on plastic grass). Inside, the "hotel" is unmanned. A phone number is stuck to a table at the entrance should you need assistance (mind you, it's only manned during office hours). The inside of the building smelt of mildew (awesome 👍🏻) and finding our way to our room, it felt like navigating a dodgy block of flats - not a hotel. The room itself was okay at a first glance - somewhat similar to the photos. But as you can see from the photos (I should've taken more 🤦🏻‍♀️), the room itself was in a general state of disrepair. I forgot to photograph the torn corner of wallpaper to the bottom left of the bedframe and the dust that had accumulated beneath it. There was black mold in the bathroom, the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, the toiletries shelf was loose at the screw so it was off-kilter and the overall feel of the place was: cheap. The tea-making facilities were nonsensical. Teabags and mugs but no milk or teaspoons (?). I found a random spanner in the drawer of the vanity so used the end of that to stir my hot drinks 😂🥴 In addition to this, there's no proper blinds or curtains - just thin voile curtains that barely allow privacy and obviously don't block any of the light coming in. I genuinely didn't know "hotels" like this existed! Finally, and most importantly, the room was uncomfortably hot and stuffy and the air conditioner was broken - and not only that but the window was unable to be opened. 😭 I contacted the hotel about the AC and in fairness to them they responded fairly promptly and sent someone out to have a look at it the next day (but only because I emphasised that we were having trouble sleeping, the woman on the phone did initially try to brush me off). My boyfriend and I were out for the day and we gave permission for them to access the room to fix it. No further correspondence ensued. We returned to the hotel that evening to find the AC was still broken. So disappointing. They didn't even have the sense to tell us. We'd just travelled from Scotland and the heat of London is one thing for a Scot - but the heat of a hotel room in London in midsummer without any AC - OR - the option to open a window is verging on torture. I reached out to the hotel again conveying my disappointment regarding this and my desire to escalate this to management to resolve our grievances - and in return I got radio silence. Funny that. I'm not the type to leave scathing reviews but honestly I just want to warn anyone who plans to stay here. It's not worth it. And for people saying you get
