I've been staying in Firmdale hotels since over 20 years, including this one, but unfortunately, this time, my stay has been of the poorest quality and the highest price. I'm moving on after this experience. On the positive side, the location is very good, the hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are well appointed. On the negative side, the rooms and bathrooms are very small, our $700+ per night room had massive ducting blocking the window. This is unacceptable at this price. A well decorated lousy room is still a lousy room. Also, the hotel seems to suffer from lack of staff (including in the restaurant) and some of the staff is inexperienced. Perhaps this is an issue with many London hotels. Finally, I remember the restaurant food of being better in the past than my recent experience. Perhaps this is also related to the staffing issue.

Booked a luxury room for 2 days and was provided with a room below ground floor with bedroom view of a white brick wall. I mentioned to the lady in reception that I was claustrophobic and would much prefer to be on the up floors. ' it will be ok ' was the response. The room was noisy through most of the night. There were no tea and coffee facilities provided. I would describe the atmosphere in the reception area as cold. Not warm and welcoming.

This is a small hotel very close to the underground station in a very pretty residential area. The hotel rooms are reached by staircase and are small but well appointed and very nicely decorated. There is a small lobby on the ground floor and a restaurant.

We stayed at the hotel this weekend when my daughter was getting married. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was very comfortable, clean with a lovely powerful shower. It’s a great location close to Marleybone and other attractions

We absolutely loved this hotel. My husband and I stayed for a couple of days on the way into Europe and gain on the way out. The location is great. Marylebone is my favorite area in London: so many great restaurants and shops and doesn't feel as touristy as a lot of the hotel areas in London. The particular square the hotel is on, Dorset Square, is very charming. The hotel is an older townhome which was restore and is maintained impeccably which is no easy feat with an old structure. Both rooms that we had, one on the fourth floor, the other the second, were beautifully decorated and had nice views of the square. The room on the first visit was quite small but very well laid out. It worked great for a couple of days, but would have been tight for longer. For the second visit we had a larger room which was fantastic. When we returned, we felt like we were "coming home". We had breakfast every morning in the restaurant, The Potting Shed. We loved it. It had both great service and food. An ideal way to start your morning. We had late afternoon tea and drinks as well. Lastly, the staff was amazing. I wanted to buy a few Kit Kemp items, and they went out of their way to be helpful. They were great with all our reservations and provided advice on lunch spots. Andres and Luca and all of the staff were amazing! We have been to many hotels in London, including other lovely Firmdale hotels, but this is our favorite!

This is my favorite hotel in London! Stayed here for a week for work and for play. The neighborhood is beautiful and the hotel quiet in front of the park — walking distance to most anything and close to all of the major tube lines. The hotel is beautifully decorated. A very special shout out to Iryna and Luca for treating us like family. We can’t wait to return. Thank you!

My husband and I had our wedding reception and breakfast in the Dorset Square Hotel (for 30 people in the Potting Shed) in the middle of September. We also stayed in the hotel for the event, along with several of our friends and family. The entire experience with Luca and the hotel team was first class and the journey from booking the event to the event itself was a joy because of them. Luca treated us like valued guests from the start, over email and during visits for tastings and menu choices. He is so warm and personable. The service from him and from everyone in the hotel was first rate. The rooms in the hotel are stylish and comfortable. The wedding breakfast menu was amazing and every morsel delicious. All our guests commented on the high quality of the house champagne, canapes and every dish which was served. We were so well looked after, from the minute we arrived to checkout two days later. The team took care of everything - pre-ceremony drinks, reception, the wedding breakfast and they allowed us to have the Potting Shed for the whole afternoon and evening. Everything which was delivered to the hotel on the morning of the wedding, flowers, cake etc were smoothly and efficiently looked after. This meant that we didn't have to worry about anything. There were lovely touches in our bridal suite too (champagne and gifts). We have no hesitation in recommending this charming, hidden gem of a hotel and restaurant - you will have a wonderful experience. Thank you, Luca and team.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely small hotel. Nicely appointed room with its central location in Marylebone with a short walk to both Marylebone and Baker Street tubes. We enjoyed a lovely glass of champagne in the bar. Staff couldn’t do enough to help and made us feel very welcome.

This is my favorite hotel in London. The location is great, staff are super friendly and rooms are well designed and equipped . The only downside is that the rooms are small and some of the ‘larger’ ones are quite dark. The Dorset Square hotel feels old fashioned and quaint. A refreshing change from many of the large chain hotels.

Very nice cozy hotel. Felt very comfortable with very clean facilities and outstanding service. I had a visit to London Business School and this hotel was in the perfect spot to reach to the business school walking. Coming back in future for sure. One thing to note that don’t expect a lobby or big rooms .. this is a different type of hotel where it’s more of feeling like home hotel. To be honest, I liked it this way as it was matching my purpose of this trip. Also I wish there was a very small dest at the room but it was not a deal breaker for me still coming back for this hotel. Thank you for the comfortable stay!

The staff at the front desk was lovely yet professional. They offered information about the area before we had a change to ask! They also offered help in securing transportation when we checked out and to store our luggage for a few hours before and after our stay there. Everything about our room was outstanding; the stunning decor, the comfortable bed and pillows and the beautiful bathroom. The Potting Shed restaurant/bar was also wonderful- good food and drinks and a fun staff (especially behind the bar). The Drawing Room was perfect for winding down the evening - we were there every evening. And again, with beautiful decor. We hope to return for another wonderful holiday.

We arrived Friday around 4 and were given room 1 which is in the basement 👎 As we went down the stairs there seemed to be a staff meeting taking place in the corridor, I appreciate that it’s great to get your staff together but it seemed to carry on for a while and we could hear it from our room. Being the basement room if you like the sound of the underground from 5am you are in luck as this room had that feature which vibrated the room and made the room door rattle in its lock, we had to jam a chair against the door to stop it. Apart from the noise and poor sleep the room was small and bathroom tiny but everything felt really high quality with some very nice personal touches, breakfast was also very good. I would stay again but avoid Room 1

We have visited this wonderful hotel on several occasions and it never fails to provide a very special experience. On arrival we always receive a warm yet professional start to our stay . A very special thank you to the General Manager Luca who goes above and beyond to ensure everything is of the highest standard & chef Joe who produces amazing food perfectly designed to compliment each event.I have a severe nut allergy which is taken very seriously by the team and I trust their judgement. This a truly unique London venue you wouldn’t want to miss…. We don’t! x

Our stay and post-wedding lunch at the Dorset Square Hotel was absolutely delightful and magical. The post-wedding lunch was perfect, seamless and absolutely delicious, the service impeccable, and for the evening we spent at the hotel we were even upgraded to an absolutely stunning suite - where we had an incredible stay. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful, we didn't want to leave! We could not be more grateful for the care, kindness, and generosity Luca and his entire team extended to us and our families. Thank you very, very much. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, whether for a celebration or just to stay!
