En chambre solo avec salle de bain privatisée, le séjour s’est extrêmement bien passé. Chambre extrêmement propre. Idéalement situé, dans un quartier en pleine expansion, je recommande vivement ce lieu! Proche métro liverpool street.

upon arrival, I found that the hostel had closed a few days earlier. They didn't bother even to send an email. Apparently, they have new owners and management, but I wouldn't trust them after how they treated their customers upon that transformation - information about cancellation came a day after my stay there would end, there is no contact with the object ever since, I'm still waiting for a refund. They even had the audacity to ask for a positive review in exchange for a small discount on next stay there. Avoid those people and all their businesses!

What a find! My first time staying at a hostel and after this experience, probably not my last. Check in was quick and easy and myself and my partner were made to feel very welcome. We were only staying for one night before moving on. If you are looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and simply great value for money then this is your place. This is a disaster when we received the email from *********** this morning where the hostel cancelled our booking without any explanation. This is so wrong as we can't get the same budget to stay at the same location when the day comes closer. For those going to book the hostel, think twice before you book this hostel.

Nothing better to say. I booked a room super far in advance only to find out the hostel cancelled my booking without even saying why. I'm super upset and do not recommend this hostel if you want to be sure to have accommodation the day you travel. Needless to say that other available hostels were super far, more expensive and do not offer the same services. But, they did not cancel ;)

I made a reservation to stay here months ago, and have just received an email from *********** stating that the Dictionary Hostel has cancelled my reservation. I was supposed to stay here in 2 weeks, so with it being so close to the date of my trip, I can't find any alternative within a reasonable price and have literally no idea what I'm going to do. I haven't even received any apology or explanation as to why this has happened. If you want to make sure you will have a place to stay, don't book the Dictionary Hostel or you might end up with nowhere to stay like me.

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. The room was located at the front, where many entertainment venues were also located. Earplugs would not have been an unnecessary luxury. Nevertheless, a very pleasant experience, very friendly staff, do everything to make your stay as desired. I would definitely come back here, but I will bring my earplugs to sleep a little more soundly 😇

I don't often give 1* reviews but this place truly deserves it for the nights I stayed, and I'm still waiting on a refund for the nights I cancelled. Will try and summarise the key issues: - Someone in my bed when I arrived - Was allocated another bed in the same room - Tried to do some work downstairs in the evening in the 'common room' (in reality just the reception area) - All plug sockets + lights were turned off due to a water leak so went up to bed. - Someone was also in my newly allocated bed. The only bed free was by the door, but this had already been slept in, - I was told by reception that the hostel was fully booked so I would have to sleep in the free bed, even though someone had already been in it and must have moved. - Didn't sleep until at least 2 as the there's a nightclub directly below playing music, loudly, even on a sunday night. It was also particularly bright and loud right by the door + toilet. - Was woken in the night by someone asking if I was in their bed. - Was woken again by the fire alarm, a few times. - Room and bathroom were dirty, and roasting with no ventilation at all. After all this, I was hoping I could cancel my remaining nights, and ideally get a refund for what what was probably the worst nights sleep of my life. I had to wait for a manager to arrive in the afternoon, who told me I could only cancel the nights after next, as they need 24h notice. I agreed, but haven't heard anything since, despite repeated calls to the hostel, they still won't refund me for the cancelled nights. Some staff seem genuine, but the only answer I get is "you have to speak to the manager, and he isn't in", and when I ask for them to pass on my number and call, or respond to me emails, they don't. if the hostel wants to refund me for the cancelled nights, I will amend this review. Whilst it is still live in it's current form, you can assume they have not contacted me to resolve the issue. If this is the sort of place you want to stay, do so at your own risk.

Was my first experience in an hostel in London.And I've been travelling a lot. Well, I will never go back to this place. Was disgusting and noisy. People were really not respectful and lockers are really bad as you can see through. The pictures you can see on this website are not accurate, this place is absolutely not looking like that.
