The best honeymoon experience in London. Since we arrived, my wife and I were treated very friendly by the Wellesley staff to celebrate our honeymoon. We were then offered a free upgrade to a gorgeous Junior Suite with a Christmas tree. The upgrade was accompanied by flowers and Veuve Clicquot bottle. We have to add that the Luxury Collection hotel felt like out own London private appartment. Everyone was so friendly, especially the GM, Mr. Prabakaran. The concierge team helped us to secure a beautiful table at the Alain Ducasse 3 restaurant. I am so grateful for creating such a wonderful honeymoon experience for me and my wife. Have to add that the cigar lounge and the liquor and wine bottles are amazing! Can’t wait to stay at The Wellesley again, next time we visit London!

I simply wanted to sit at an empty table to enjoy some tea, but when I politely asked, the staff member responded in a rude and hostile manner. To my shock, he began screaming at me for no reason and accused me of being rude, which was completely unfounded. Despite there being available seating, he insisted that I leave the area. This experience left me feeling humiliated and unjustly treated. It’s deeply concerning that a hotel, which should be focused on guest satisfaction and hospitality, would allow such a situation to occur. I strongly advise caution if considering this hotel, as the staff's attitude and handling of the situation were appalling and far below any reasonable standard of customer service.

Starting with the positives, The Wellesley is a lovely, small boutique hotel in a good location across from Hyde Park. The service levels of the staff are five star -- every touch point we had with a staff member was excellent from start to finish. The staff goes out of their way to engage with you and help to personalize your stay. The room was very nice but not exceptional in any way. And, if you're a smoker, this place is for you. The not-so-positives. The breakfast area (dining room?) felt like a spillover afterthought. While service was very good, the experience was transactional. The room is small and too brightly lit, the food was nothing special -- we did not want to linger longer than we needed to. The biggest and most perplexing issue we had with this property was its priority around smoking. They are proud of their cigar bar area, but across from this area is their bar and outdoor lounge that becomes completely consumed by cigarette smoking as soon as the sun sets. The smell permeates and contaminates the very small lobby -- entering the hotel feels like walking into a ******. There was no way we could enjoy a drink at their bar or lounge, which is a basic expectation and massive disappointment in a five star hotel. The smoke travels up to the nonsmoking rooms, and certainly filled ours on the third floor. The after dark smoking thing is completely incongruent with the charm and service of this hotel during the daylight. It's really too bad because the hotel is lovely in almost every other way.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and the staff are just as beautiful as the hotel. Every last person from the GM, front desk staff, the doorman, the butler and concierge. I felt like we were treated like royalty. This hotel should be the model of every Marriott in existence. We will definitely be returning. I count it a privilege to have had the opportunity to stay on this property. They exemplified world-class service that truly exceeds any location I have ever stayed at.

My husband and I stayed at The Wellesley Knightsbridge for one weekend in May 2024. We actually live in London, but we were there to celebrate several special occasions: one year since moving from New York to London, my upcoming birthday, and our pre-Seychelles honeymoon. As a self-employed sustainable tourism consultant with a background in tourism and hospitality, I learned about this legendary hotel through my Marriott Bonvoy program. We had an amazing weekend at the hotel. The room was comfortable, and we felt truly valued as guests and as Marriott Bonvoy elite members. We dined at The Oval Restaurant twice for dinner and breakfast, both of which were exceptional. I upgraded my complimentary continental breakfast to a full English breakfast, and the quality of the food was simply the best. We also tried the special Churchill blend tea, specifically designed for the guests here, which was an experience I’ve never had anywhere else. We visited the signature cigar bar and learned a lot about the knowledge and history of cigars, even though neither my husband nor I smoke. Every staff member we encountered throughout our stay, from the front desk to the concierge to the doorman and restaurant staffs, were professional and friendly. We felt a warm, family-like vibe here. I received a surprising birthday dessert and a handwritten birthday card with signatures from everyone, including people I met and some I didn’t get a chance to meet. I've already decided to revisit this hotel and probably bring more friends who will visit me in London. I wish the entire team all the best and can't wait to see them again. Thank you all for making my one-year anniversary of being a Londoner special and memorable.

Stayed here for a night. Great Ambassador recognition. Good breakfast. Good room service. Rooms were a bit on the small side, but location is excellent. Recommend avoiding the whisky bar: Pricing seems to be aimed at foreign kids from a certain part of the world showing off to their mates they can buy a dram for a couple of hundred quid (and mix it with a diet coke).

Where can I start, this hotel is out of this world. From the moment you step outside you are made to feel very welcome. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are beautiful especially the bathroom. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to leave. Would I stay here again?? Nice experience very personalised given the boutique nature of the hotel. Chauffere service is convenient. Nice breakfast as well. Will definitely be back with my wife and children next time. Also worth noting that the location is convenient for London

I stayed in The Wellesley for 1 night. This is my second time at the hotel. The last time was a few years ago during the Christmas period and I had good memories so wanted to try again. Sadly, I found this time extremely disappointing. The staff are extremely snooty. No one is smiling or makes you feel welcome. I was checking in before my husband and they kept asking when he will come (even though my name was on the booking) therefore when he was coming is irrelevant. I was told at check in I can either have complimentary breakfast or points towards bonvoy so I opted for breakfast. Upon leaving the breakfast the next morning they asked me to sign for the extra charges because we ordered hot food - no one had told me ordering eggs would cost an extra £20. This should have been communicated. I asked for late check out since I am a bonvoy ambassador elite, this is one of the perks but was only given 1pm. Therefore, I left my luggage with the concierge and when I got back to the hotel around 5pm, I asked where I can sit and have a coffee. They showed me to the non smoking area at the front (opposite the cigar lounge). The room was empty and I grabbed a sandwich out my bag as I’m 6 months pregnant, I wanted to quickly eat and have my coffee before the airport. The member of staff came and told me I can’t eat outside food there. I said there is no one here, it’s a small sandwich and no rubbish will be left anywhere. He got the manager in who continued to tell me I needed to move. I’m a paying guest. I am 6 months pregnant. They didn’t give me late check out. They couldn’t let me just sit down for 10 minutes? Instead needed to bother me and hover around me like I’m carrying a weapon - it was a small sandwich. I got up and cancelled the coffee and went and got my luggage which no one helped me with. Again, a pregnant woman and no one assists me with 2 suitcases. It’s my mistake for choosing this hotel over The Edition, where I usually stay and have never been treated in this way. I will continue going there next time. The Wellesley is tired interior compared to it and the staff are not anywhere near as welcoming.
