支柱酒店(The Pillar Hotel)

I am actually laid on the bed before checking out and couldn't be happier with our stay at The Pillar. I am a wheelchair user, and it is stressful trying to find truly accessible hotel rooms, but this one is including emergency pull cords by bed and shower, bars by toilet and a raised toilet, the seat in shower is bolted to the wall. Some people have said the Wi-Fi is bad, well we laid in bed and streamed shows from BBC iPlayer and 4 on Demand with no buffering! What really made this special was that a Chuppah was set up right outside our room and the central area soon filled with guests, and we got to watch this special moment which ended of course with a lot of singing! Breakfast was perfect, and the staff are very attentive, and over all I cannot fault our stay at this wonderful hotel.

N’a clairement pas le niveau d’un 4 étoiles. Ne vous attendez pas à des omelettes, œufs brouillés ou autres au petit dej, il n’y a que des viennoiserie et des fruits. La chambre avait un odeur d’humidité. J’ai réservé une table pour chabat, même la très déçu, 20£ par personne soit 40£ pour des assiettes en plastique et une seule bouteille de jus de raisin du volume d’un verre ! Pas de vin, pas de pain … j’ai demandé du pain pour le motzi, qui a été refusé ! Bref je déconseille.

We booked day before, were told we could view available rooms and choose. On arrival the receptionist was very unfriendly, begrudgingly showed us rooms, which we didn't like sand did not justify £275 a night. While we were waiting in reception a guest complained about a problem in his room. We decided to leave; but we were not told would we be charged anyway. Afterwards found out that hotel took £275 off my card. I complained to the hotel and explained all the above and requested refund - not one bit sympathetic - no good will. My opinion: money grabbing rip off

Great communication via email, during booking for my wife’s graduation nearby. On arrival we were fortunate enough to have a room upgrade because of the special occasion. Spacious room in the actual top Pillar part. The room had a microwave, fridge with a ice box which was really handy for the cool bag ice blocks. Massive bed which was well comfy. Staff were really attentive and accommodating. Thankyou all for everything.

Charming, comfortable hotel. Rooms set around a grassy courtyard. Immaculately clean. Staff polite and helpful. Coffee, tea and cold drinks available all day. These are in the lounge which is off the Courtyard... So when returning from a hot, tiring day of sightseeing, one can revive yourself before going to your room.

The Pillar turned out to be many times better than expected. In a converted old monastery, a listed building full of character, but with up-to-date bathrooms and super soft towels. . The staff were amazingly helpful, even lent me 5 pounds to pay for the taxi as I did not have enough sterling currency on arrival. Sumptuous breakfast. There is no restaurant for mid day meals but snacks and hot drinks provided free of charge all day long. They provided a hot plate and urn for Shabbat meals that we bought in ourself. The location couldn’t be better in relation to Hendon, Golders Green, Brent Cross Mall, all within walking distance.

We had one night stay, we were blown away by the location being so close to the amenities and also the beautiful building. The staff were very helpful and bent over backwards to accommodate us. My wife asked for decaf tea which they didn’t have but by the time we got back to our room after going out for a meal they had left a whole box of decaf tea in our room. The room was lovely but on the downside my wife’s pillow was very lumpy could’ve done with a better quality one. Having said that, top marks for everything from the breakfast to the helpful staff.

Decent hotel. Depends what you're looking for. In a very residential area. Not a lot of activity in the area. A very good location if it is important to be near kosher facilities and synagogues. If you into touring in London - a bit out of the way. Rooms are somewhat spartan. A beautiful building and very nice grounds.
