Piccolo hotel caratteristico a gestione familiare dal 1962, nel cuore di Hampstead. La camera n. 6 al primo piano (una doppia) ha tutto quello che serve in pochi mq. il bagno però è molto piccolo, bisogna spogliarsi per forza in camera. Nonostante le finestre diano sulla strada principale, non c'è assolutamente traffico di notte, passano pochissime auto e non disturbano il sonno (eventualmente sono disponibili i tappi per le orecchie, ma che a mio parere proprio non servono!). Parquet per terra e finestre nuove in anodizzato. Perfetta la colazione: croissant al burro, fette di pane anche coi cerali oppure piccoli panini bianchi, marmellate e yogurt di vari gusti, Nutella (evviva!), frutta fresca, cerali, formaggio, uova, prosciutto. Tea, cappuccino (come in Italia), caffè e succo di frutta. per i palati forti, ci sono anche le confezioni piccoline di Marmite, così buona per gli inglesi, ma non credo che possa piacere agli italiani. Non c'è più il ristorante, ma per la strada che porta alla metro si possono trovare un paio di ristoranti italiani, dei pubs e alcuni ristoranti etnici. Ci sono un Tesco Express e un Sainsbury's ben riforniti con prezzi nella media. La metro linea nera Northern dista a piedi circa 3-4 minuti e porta in centro direttamente senza cambi (discesa a Waterloo per il London Eyes e Big Ben. discesa a Leicester Square per Piccadilly Circus e Chinatown. discesa a London Bridge per il Tower Bridge e per i treni diretti da/per l'aeroporto di Gatwick). Camden è a tre fermate. Lorenzo, il proprietario, è stato gentilissimo così come il resto dello staff. Tutti parlano perfettamente italiano. Non posso che consigliarlo anche per la pulizia!

Hôtel idéalement situé dans Londres, à 30 minutes à pied de Camden, proche du métro et bien desservi par les bus. L'endroit est très propre, le personnel est aux petits soins. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est simple mais complet. Pensez cependant à prendre des boules quies car les cloisons sont fines. C'est avec plaisir que j'y retournerai si l'occasion se présente !

Le parfait endroit pour rayonner dans Londres ! Hotel très calme, simple et efficace. Le quartier et vraiment très chouette, et la proximité du parc Hampstead est la cerise sur le gâteau. Personnel au petit soin très prévenant, la petite touche Italienne est très appréciable. Nous adorons y séjourner !! A très vite Lorenzo, Julie Arnaud et Rachel

Nonostante non sia in centro a Londra, la scelta si è rivelata azzeccata poiché l'hotel è comunque facilmente raggiungibile in metro, e dista circa 5 minuti a piedi dalla fermata. Il quartiere è tranquillo e molto carino, la camera assegnata era calda, confortevole e pulita, e si raggiungeva salendo rapide scale in legno, non comodissime ma sicuramente caratteristiche. La colazione è semplice ma c'è quanto basta per cominciare al meglio la giornata, il personale molto cortese e disponibile. Sicuramente lo terrò in considerazione per futuri viaggi e lo raccomando vivamente. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo!

Stayed here for a solo sightseeing trip to our precious capital, another story altogether. First the place is so convenient 5 mins walk to underground brilliant! Hampstead is nice and has plenty of shops and restaurants, and the hotel is a good base for that. It's all uphill from the ststion be aware of that. My room was clean and comfy. Good tv WiFi great , Lorenzo is a charming man and is there to greet you in the morning for your continental breakfast, and there is a lovely lady there as well didn't get her name, rude on my part The bathroom lovely spacious has little washing bits in the cabinet above the sink, and the towels fit nicely. So, the slight downside is the place could do with a lick of paint, and the stairs to the rooms are just old, creaky, and difficult to manoeuvre with a large case , but don't let that put you off it's a great convenient place to explore the city and for the price well worth the money, andci didn't want to be down on anything as they were all really lovely but I have to be honest. I hope this helps others, and if I'm back down there again, I'll definitely stay there.

There are a lot of good reasons to stay at La Gaffe. The location in Hampstead is beautiful, with walkable access to many attractions, restaurants, and to the Underground. The staff is wonderful: polite, helpful, friendly, accommodating. My bed was comfortable and my bathroom was clean. The price of this room (£90/night including continental breakfast and gourmet coffee) could not be beat in London. Unfortunately, my room (#7) needs a freshen-up. The paint was dull and severely cracked in many places. It’s been decades since it was painted. The single room was adequate for me as a solo traveler, but it’s a claustrophobic at about 6’ x 10’. The ensuite shower room was awkward: the shower enclosure is about 10” from the front of the toilet. Lastly, it’s an older building with no lift, and the stairs are narrow and steep. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, but I recommend it with caution.

We stayed for the third time this June (2024) at La Gaffe. Again, the friendly staff, led by owner Lorenzo, remembered us from the year before! This is a B&B located on the Northern Line, close enough that you can be in Central London in half an hour, and yet in a quiet, sophisticated neighborhood, way outside of tourist-land, with restaurants, shops, and a big, beautiful park. Thank you, Lorenzo, for a wonderful stay.

We booked La Gaffe for 2 nights and our stay completely exceeded our expectations. On arrival, Lorenzo greeted us and was so welcoming, we immediately felt comfortable. The efforts he and his staff go to really are exceptional. Our room was compact, which we expected, but it was clean and had everything we needed for our stay with enough storage for our things. We were advised of a local shop to get snacks and decided, after our stroll, to have a drink in the hotel bar. Alex served us drinks and was friendly, and it was lovely to sit in the quirky and beautiful surroundings of La Gaffe. In our room, the bed was comfortable and although we could hear the traffic noise, it was to be expected, and we both slept well. The shower was easy to use and the hair and body wash was really nice. Breakfast was simple, but had a good choice and it was lovely to sit in the restaurant area of this fantastic B & B. It was in a great location too, and we had two lovely walks on Hampstead Heath, as well as being so close to various shops in Hampstead, as well as close to the tube station. We didn't want to leave this morning and definitely want to return.

This is truly a unique little place which retains many of the original features from the original owner and also has lovely position, in the heart of Hampstead. The staff are all so helpful and really provide a very professional yet caringapproach to those staying.

Very well situated B&B with helpful staff and good continental breakfast. It's close to Hampstead tube station, walkable distance to Hampstead Heath, Kenwood House and Burgh House. We really enjoyed our weekend here. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfast lovely. It is on a busy road so there was some noise but it didn't keep me awake and they did provide ear plugs should you need them. There is no lift, again not a problem for us. I would stay here again when visiting London. Its in a beautiful area but has easy access to all the sights in London as the nearby Tube station is on the Northern line.

A great B&B with friendly, helpful staff who were very accommodating. It was very convenient as just a 5 minute walk from Hampstead tube station which was reassuring given I was coming back late on my own each night. My room at the top of the building was comfortable and had a large bathroom with both a shower and a jacuzzi bath. Overall good value for money and a very pleasant place to base myself to get out and about in London.

I do not recommend this place more like a hostel or bedsit than a hotel. Normally stay at premiere inn and thought we would try somewhere different. The room had dirty walls and then bed was squeaky. It reminded me of my student accommodation 25 years ago. No sound proofing I could hear neighbours arguing until 1 am. Staff were polite however fire alarm went off multiple times in the night. When I tried to exit the door was internally locked and no one greeted us outside. Worse than this was that a team member from the annex next door was clearly visible inside the property on the phone and distracted while his guests stood for 20 minutes on the pavement outside…in the end I returned back into the building and retrieved the contact telephone number for emergency contacts…as we did not know how long we may be stood outside for…I rang the number and the same man I could see wandering around inside answered and eventually came out…I was very annoyed that he did not approach us in all the time we stood there and left us to fend for ourselves until shamed into helping us. A truly awful experience and I would never stay there again the breakfast offer was boiled eggs bread rolls and cereal and the restaurant error had a strange odour.

First but definitely not last time we stayed in this small, very friendly hotel. All of the staff is polite, warmhearted, helpful. The room is clean and cozy. The localtion is incredible, this area of London is so lovely and peaceful. The tube is like 5 mins away, Hampstead Heath is not too far as well. We are looking forward to go back in summertime. After living and working a few years ago in London, we became very fond of Hampstead, and any time have been back in the UK we have tried to fit in a visit. This time we were really happy we found this hotel! It really is a place at that matches the location for charm, and it was a perfect base for us to explore old favorites in Hampstead. The room was comfortable, the bed may be a little small for some tastes and sizes, but for us was fine. View of the street and autumn trees, was a bit of noise on the night but just happy sounds of people walking home so not a big deal. Breakfast was continental style which for us was perfect, the breads and pastries was fresh, and the coffee was good. We did not eat dinner because we had plans, but we enjoyed a glass in the wine bar and it was very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Our local friends said they have good food at the restaurant so maybe we try next time.
