Overall service was below average, for being a hotel in DTLA the windows should have a better acoustic isolation you can hear all the noise from the street if you. The room had a smell. Cannot really describe it. Been in the Ace at New York and London and the experience was pleasant. Cannot say the same to LA

While the hotel itself is beautiful, the amenities are very limited and the staff behave more like young socialite members of a cool hipster club, than attentive customer service oriented hotel employees. Every day there is a different protocol at the restaurant, order at the counter one day. Wait for a waiter the next. Go grab your own menu then come back to the counter to order…and all instructed with an obnoxious attitude. No valet or onsite parking, the rooms are stylish and clean but very dimly lit. All in all it was cheaper than other options but I won’t be staying here again.

I was very pleased with the approach Michelle has at the Front Desk. At check -in she took control of getting me into a room that I was pleased with! She also helped me check out and was very courteous with allowing me to stay for a late check out ! Michelle is definitely a asset to the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles .

They *****ped away every convenience of what made the Ace an ideal place to stay in DTLA and kept the insane price. Not only that, but the staff at check in made me feel like I was interrupting them and I had to be grateful for their attention so I could check into the hotel I’m paying $500/night for. There are no porters, no valet- which is advertised as a convenience all over Ace. Absolutely ludicrous

The staff was nice, but I was really frustrated by parking. I asked the front desk if I was good in the 10-minute unloading zone. I went up to my room on the 10th to drop my luggage, but there were serious issues with the elevator on the way up and down. I got back down to the car exactly 13 minutes later and had already received an expensive parking ticket. Welcome to LA. The rooms are fine, but a bit dated. The upstairs bar also becomes a loud nightclub on Fridays until 2am, so bring your earplugs as both the lounge and the noise of the crowds on the street may keep you from a good night of sleep.

Worth it to stay at the Ace when going there, or nearby, for an event. We live in the South Bay (LA county), so we know what to expect when we stay downtown for the weekend, but we embrace it. The Ace theater is gorgeous, there are excellent restaurants nearby and many other attractions such as the Grand Central Market, The Last Bookstore, Pershing Square, the jewelry district, etc. within walking distance. For those interested in doing up LA, the Ace downtown is the place to stay!

Location was so-so. I wanted downtown but some of the blocks hear the hotel were kind of sketch. I had no idea the room was so small. The pool is a joke. It's like a jacuzzi side pool. One maybe two people could float in it. It's not a pool and I was looking forward to keep my swim workouts going but not here. For the price, and the extra addon cost, the value wasn't there for me.

The staff, including those at reception, Loom and Upstairs Bar all continue the ACE tradition of friendliness and excellence. Super impressed by all. But limited and expensive dinner options work against the hotel. Likewise, rooms are very nice but windows offer no sound barrier to noise from outside generators, or guests on the lower level terrace. The Downtown area is currently worse than when the ACE first opened and walking around at night is not the safest option. Love the ACE but the price is no longer justified.
