聖莫妮卡戴斯酒店(Days Inn by Wyndham Santa Monica/Los Angeles)

Sembla que sigui a prop de la platja però no, perquè allà els carrers són molt grans. Caminant són uns 45 min. fins arribar a la platja de Sta. Mònica. El personal molt amable. Vam arribar abans de l’hora del check-in i ens van deixar guardar les maletes allà (no tenen una sala concreta i les deixen al menjador). L’habitació gran. Dos llits dobles i un lavabo molt ampli amb banyera. Vam tenir la visita d’una panerola però la resta, bé. Net. A l’habitació hi ha nevera, microones, despertador … i una Bíblia, per si la necessiteu 😁

We were on town for four nights to participate in Bruin Family Weekend at the UCLA campus. The hotel is conveniently located off of Wilshire in Santa Monica and has secure free underground parking. Those are the two best things about this hotel. In terms of amenities and comfort, it's just a slight step up from Motel 6 - but without the brick walls. It was crazy expensive for what we got in return, which was basically a roof over our head and a bathroom to do our business. The 24" inch TV may have been the worst TV that I have ever experienced. The resolution was horrible and the color was washed out. The towels in the bathroom are similar to the ones they passed out for high school PE, only much smaller and less plush. The place didn't even have a dresser where you could unpack your suitcase and store your clothes. It had an open air closet with about 8 hangers for storage. On the fourth day we moved to another hotel closer to Westwood. I couldn't take this place for another night.

When we got to the property there was no record of our booking despite paying for the stay in full. Neither last minute nor the property wanted to take ownership of the issue and ultimately I was left to try to liaise with the booking provider to try to rectify with booking agent only to be told that they had fully booked the room we had chosen and only had a room at a higher price that we would need to pay for. The booking agent was unwilling to accept the increased cost and provided little in the way of alternative options. In the end my wife had to tell the property manager what we were there on the last stop of our honeymoon before they reluctantly agreed to waive the charges (after two hours of stressing) Ultimately the issue was between the booking provider and the hotel but somehow the consumer is the person that is left to deal with the issue or out of pocket. It probably points to a broader issue with the process the booking provider uses to facilitate bookings on tue consumers behalf as the process lst minute issues is to send booking. Requests to a staff member email and not a group email (who coincidentally no longer works at the hotel hence the issue)

Walls are so thin you can hear everything the neighbors are doing including being up all night vomiting in the bathroom next door and making a ruckus. Also arrived to the room one evening to the drunk across the hall urinating in the hallway. Reception did nothing about it.
