銀溪度假屋(Silverstream Retreat)

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Was weird really. Close to the motorway and river but felt like country - go figure :-) The history of the building is interesting and the staff are fabulous. Really friendly and totally welcoming. The units/apartments are delightful - an old feel in a modern atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Don't skip this one.

Throughout the night, a horrible noise woke us up a few times. Upon check out, we reported this to the very friendly front office assistant, and a man we assume is a manager overheard and came closer. We recorded the sound on a video and played it for him. After some thinking, he said it was the bathroom towel rail, which was probably on a high setting, and the heating water was the cause of the noise. I then stated that we turned off the power switches. He then referred back to the heat setting, which is apparently separate from the power switches. I told him that as people new to New Zealand, we were unaware that the rail had separate settings. Our heat rail is switched and off at home by a power switch next to the light switch. He then said that if we had called throughout the night, he would have come and changed the heat rail's setting, and the noise would've been gone. In all honestly, we did not think of that. We are not argumentative people. A simple "sorry about that" would suffice. But that is not what he did. He turned it around as if we were at fault. First, for not knowing to turn down a heat setting we did not know existed, and then for not calling them in the middle of the night. This should never have happened. The rail is not supposed to make such a horrid sound. All in all, I feel that this is one of those places where when it is good, it is great, but if something undesirable happens, it is a "sucks to be you" situation for the client.

This retreat is disgusting and filthy They have emergency housing living there which they need to be honest on line and state this We would definitely not of booked 3 units for our family holiday for 5 nights The beds are stained and worn out and ripped under blankets Pillows were stained and disgusting The toilet stunk of urine which we asked the house keepers to clean but they could not get rid of the smell The ice box was so frozen the fridge door would not close Carpet stains throughout Lots of spiders and cobwebs We booked room 1 ,2 and 3 Riverside apartments views and paid really good money They moved a homeless lady over to another room as we complained of her noise with lots people coming and going Manager told us he was evicting her but not true Would never recommend or stay here again It is run by a church

River view room was nice and very spacious. Neighbouring room which shared an entrance was there for another event and extremely noisy after midnight. Disappointing service and poor communication from the owner and staff. We got told there was a potacot available for our baby but when my wife checked in with a tired baby after a long morning and baby was ready for a sleep. She got told the cot didn't come with a mattress.... and we got offered a bunch of blankets instead (which is defentely not suitable for a baby to be sleeping on as it is a suffocation risk) we given a bunch of poor excuses why there was a mattress a available (i.e it got stolen, we got fined previously for having non regulation mattress. One of the other wedding guests had to made a 1.5hour round trip to get a mattress from a local friend and missed a big part of the wedding we were there for.

Excellent place to stay Been here many times to stay while visiting family and friends Staff always friendly room clean and tidy Good value for money Plenty of parking Large selection of different room types Nice surroundings with plenty of space for an early morning walk Highly recommended

A large group of us stayed for a judo tournament, excellent rooms, plenty of parking and room for teenage boys to enjoy time outside together.

if looking for somewhere great to stay try this place.Great welcome from reception, cleanliness, beds were very comfortable, location close to Wellington city all great. we had a studio with two separate bedrooms, lots of sun and very quite. Would love to stay again

I had a delightful stay at Silverstream Retreat and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The room was very comfortable with modern decor. The bed was lovely and there was a generous supply of coffee and a range of different kinds of tea. This was much more than an average hotel stay. The room is delightful and it is set in a beautiful natural setting. The breakfasts delivered to the room were delicious. I enjoyed a generous serving pancakes with bacon topped with maple, cream and jam, and the following day I had a breakfast with the works - eggs, sausage, mushrooms tomato and Turkish flat bread toast. Everything about this stay was comfortable, generous and well appointed. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

I liked the fact that I was able to book at short notice. There was no phone in the room and I could not dial out from the phone on the hall, so I had to use the phone in reception.
