Our flight was supposed to land in New Haven CT the day after Christmas, but was diverted to Allentown due to weather. In a rush, I looked up a Holiday Inn, and booked it through *******. I learned right after booking that the Holiday Inn was 20 minutes from the airport, and I was able to find a Holiday Inn 5 minutes away. After a long and exhausting day of very bad travel, I tried to contact the Holiday Inn on Cherry Lane for a refund, and confirmed that we booked with another Holiday Inn, closer to the airport. We needed to be close to the airport in case they gave us a flight the next morning to New Haven (which they didn't). The airline basically stranded us 4 hours from our final destination, and while that's not Holiday Inn's fault, you think the hotel that I booked too far away would understand and refund our booking, especially since we ended up staying at another Holiday Inn, but closer to the airport. Through *******, this Holiday Inn has refused to refund me my money, even though I tried to cancel the reservation just 20 minutes after it was made.
