Very clean hotel staff was very friendly!

A pipe broke and there was no hot water, so no shower in the morning. Hard to really fault hotel or staff for this. They tried to contact me earlier in the day so I could make other arrangements but I was traveling. Lady at the front desk was nice. I will probably give them another try,

The two stars are for the bed, it was comfortable and pillows good. Bathroom had ***** hair on the floor from previous guests. Was the room actually cleaned? No water in the room. Breakfast is horrible, only previously frozen and greasy stuff. Never coming back.

Our Holiday Inn stay was marred by a used condom in our room. Despite informing staff, the resolution was unsatisfactory. Our car was broken into, raising security concerns. The hotel's inadequate response and a refund of less than 1/6th of our stay left us deeply dissatisfied.

Booked this hotel for game day weekend. Since they require 2 night minimum I booked it for the day before the game so the room would be ready when we arrived. I called to confirm we were coming in but not the first day . We we’re willing to pay the extra day just so the room would be available to us as soon as we arrive. The day we get there they informed me that they gave our room away and charge us a no show fee. And we need to find another hotel. The manager did confirm that I had called ahead but there was nothing she could do about it now and left us hanging! We did find another hotel and the fee was not charged but the manager was of no help. I would not stay at this hotel.

We tend to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels on roadtrips, usually spending a night of two as we pass through cities. We've had good and okay experiences with IHG hotels, but this one (Lubbock University area) was one of the let-downs. The hotel looks really nice and modern from the exterior, so I got my hopes high that it will be one of the cleaner/newer ones. Sadly, as soon as we stepped into the room, my first impression is "the room smells funny" -- there is a curious lingering odor -- not bad, but also not the typical "clean" hotel room smell. I freshened the room, I thought, no big deal. Upon our return, I started to notice other things *not* in order: a/c was left "off"; tissue box had one tissue sticking up (the box is otherwise empty); small stains on the carpeted area between the beds; hair on the tub (not ours, as we haven't used the shower yet); some liquid (water?) mixed in the provided conditioner (wall-fastened one); and worst, a couple of the towel looks used, and one had stain on it :( We were only staying the night, so I didn't make a complaint. Breakfast was okay -- typical, but seems a little more sparse than other Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast lady was very nice. I asked to see if they have more green tea bags, and she referred us to the front desk (she said everything out is all she has). *They did have green tea bag at the front desk -- I thought that was a little odd, but, ok...... They also didn't have any hot chocolate, which my son wanted. And, during the day we checked in (outside of the breakfast hours), there was no complimentary coffee -- only hot water. I have not seen that before at any other Holiday Inn Express. Lastly, the only thing my son was looking forward to this quick stop was the pool. It was dirty, and sadly, not usable.

We had a great stay at this holiday inn express. The front desk clerk when we checked in was very accommodating and friendly. There was an issue with someone not staying at the hotel who kept interrupting while we were checking in and the clerk respectfully handled the situation. Hotel was booked solid but everything went smoothly, including breakfast in the morning.
