Lushoto und das Lawns Hotel waren meine erste Station auf dem Festland in Tanzania, auf meiner ersten Afrika Reise überhaupt. Ich bin nach einer längeren Busfahrt aus Dar hier angekommen und habe mich direkt willkommen und zuhause gefühlt. Ich habe meine Wanderungen über das Hotel gebucht und konnte auch jeweils direkt vom Hotel aus starten. Das Personal war unglaublich hilfsbereit und liebenswürdig. Es war kleine Regenzeit und nachts sehr frisch, im Zimmer konnte ich es mir mit Tee und einer Wärmflasche gemütlich machen. Obwohl ich sehr happy war mit meinem Zimmer würde ich eines der neu renovierten wählen beim nächsten Mal.

La struttura prevede sia Lodge sia campsite. Noi abbiamo dormito nella nostra tenda e cenato e fatto colazione nel ristorante. Una buona esperienza sia per campeggio sia per ristorante. Rapporto qualità/prezzo discreto. La strada da Mombo è asfaltata ma piena di curve e con molte strettoie.

Tolle Unterkunft (hatten sein sehr schönes neu renoviertes Suiten Zimmer) mit schöner grüner Anlage. Oase zum Entspannen am Rande Lushotos. Ortskern ist in 10min zu Fuss erreichbar und alle Einheimischen sind wirklich sehr höflich und freundlich. Haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt. Essen war okay aber nichts besonderes. Urig spezielle Atmosphäre an der Bar aber dennoch sympathisch...

Sfeervol hotel in Lushoto, met zowel binnen als buiten mooie plekken om te ontspannen. Er worden goede maaltijden klaargemaakt.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel mit schönem Garten und Pool. Wir bekamen die Superior,Suite, wunderschön! Mit einem tollen Bad! Leider aber durch die Bauweise bedingt sehr hellhörig! In der 1.Nacht hatten wir das Pech, dass das Paar neben uns schon um 5:00 Uhr aufstand, Ab der 2. Nacht war die neben uns wohnende Familie auch recht lebhaft!. Die Mahlzeiten waren qualitativ okay, der Service war chaotisch. Nur selten waren die Tische eingedeckt. Einmal haben wir auf ein Sandwich mittags fast 1,5 Stunden gewartet!

Älteres, gepflegtes Haus mit überaus freundlichen Leutchen. Sehr gut in Lushoto gelegen. Öko-Touren direkt und spontan vor Ort buchbar. Gut sortierte Bar und eher Duchschnittliches aus der Küche. Saubere Zimmer mit großartigen Duschbereichen.

We had an excellent stay. Good location, friendly and professional staff, tasty and fairly priced food. We had a super walk with Charles of Eco Tours. A big issue for all three nights was aggressively loud music from a small kiosk by the perimeter of the property. If you are in one of the rooms closest to the town it's not great. Very, very loud at times in the afternoon, and late into the night every night we stayed. A real shame - the management need to find a way to stop this spoiling the stay of the guests in these rooms.

Super petit hôtel, des chambres spacieuse avec la possibilité de faire un feu de cheminée quand il fait un peu frais, la gentillesse du personnel, une cuisine délicieuse, des propriétaires toujours aux petits soins pour vous, un havre de paix!!! Bonne continuation....

Beautiful hotel from the early 1900s with real character and charm I would ask to view rooms before deciding which best suits your needs - some are closer to main building , have better WiFi etc. Management are friendly and helpful and we were able to arrange spa and laundry service (paid tng 40k for 10kgs) Our room safe didn’t work but otherwise there was a lovely heritage feel but with the plus of upgraded bathrooms The gardens and pool are lovely with plenty of spaces to sit and chill both indoors and out - my son enjoyed the games room darts and table football Shame we could only stay a couple of nights

The best hotel in Lushoto, nice pool, beautiful spacious room and bathroom, cozy restaurant. Food was also very good. I recommend!

Thank you for everything,we were stay there for two days was nice experience. Despite off was very cold for us but other things was complete good. For sure I will come again but on period when is not cold .

Lawns Hotel has an old world club atmosphere in a stunning location in the Usambara mountains. It is awonderful location for hiking and relaxing. It is slightly let down by the food on offer. Dinners are good value but basic and breakfast could be greatly improved by offering a better selection.

I ate bad food. Please stop using blue band margarine to make sauce for food and instead use butter. Also clean your rooms and wash your towels well. The toilets were clogged and no one was there to help. These people would look at you first before determining what room to give you. NOT RECOMMENDED

Originally a German farmhouse, Lushoto's The Lawns Hotel was converted by the British and registered in 1946. The Nikitas family now preserve its colonial charm and history. This place indeed has bags of charm and feels very comfortable. Our family room was spacious, had a balcony with a garden view. The gardens like the hotel are well maintained The room was clean and oozed character. There is no air conditioning but there is a fan, air conditioning is not needed as it goes cooler at night because of the altitude. There is a well stocked bar and plenty of comfortable seats inside or outside to enjoy a drink. The evening meals, although off a fixed menu were varied and delicious. The swimming pool was clean but a little chilly owing to the height above sea level. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the town. The staff were charming and very helpful. The very friendly receptionist ordered our bus tickets and arranged our transport to the bus station. All in all a very pleasant three nights.
