Spiders , worn down rooms bathrooms were not cleaned when I checked in. They tried two rooms both were unacceptable and the front desk really could care less and showed no sense of wanting to make it right. Do not stay there under any circumstances

I had to be in the area for a corporate meeting, and I’ve stayed here before and the price was right The only good thing I can say is that the bed was clean and the door locked properly This property is getting old and showing it I had to try my room key a minimum of five times before it would work The room is so dated that there are no USB plugs to charge your phone on The carpeting is dingy and the room needs to be painted I was shocked to find out that they were going to charge me a $12 parking fee This is just another hidden way to increase the price of the room and very offensive I will say that the area was quiet at night, so that was another positive Went to the lobby in the morning to get some coffee Coffee dispenser was empty so they brought a new container out I brought a cup of it back with me to the room and it was so bad I could not finish it and I am not a coffee snob I will not stay here again as there are too many similarly priced hotels in the area that do a much better job

Was kind of mortified staying here. Pulled in after dark, very little to no parking lot lighting. Door didn't open easily. Room smelled like old cigarette smoke and was not very clean. Opened the microwave to find a plate of old food...... and to top it all off I was charged 12 dollars a day for parking. Not in a ramp, not in a city where parking is premium. Won't go back.

Asia is not very welcoming at all she was working when i checked in. She needs a refresher training class in hospitality because her guest relation skills were below average in comparison to what i'm used to. I'm Gold Elite status which means i've stayed at plenty Marriot's all over the world and have spent at least $20,000 to reach this level. I was offended by Asia when i arrived at 9:30p on 4/27/24. I presented my Paypal debit card for room + tax. She replied 'we don't accept these kind of cards due to fraud". I know Detroit can be a grimey place but, your local scammers has nothing to do with me cause i reside in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm self-employed with a successful black car business at the Pittsburgh International Airport. So, you can see how insulting it was for your young front desk employee to say that to me. I can show just 1 of my bank accounts with a $9000 balance. I just found the staff to be a bit ghetto not just her. The final turn off was i only stayed 1 night for an event. The entire time i was there their key card machine wasn't working. So, front desk had to physically let you in your room. It was a major inconveinence and in all my 51yrs of traveling i've never stayed at a hotel where the key machine didn't work. I want to move, come and go as i please without having to bother the front desk to let me in my room like a child.

Gold Elit status with Marriott - means I had a lot of experience with various locations and levels of Marriott - this is THE worst experience. This Residence Inn is hard to imagine bad I wonder how they stay in Mariott group. Checked into a room that was only partially cleaned, switched to another room. The “new” room’s kitchen was dirty and so were the pots and utensils…etc. Desk on the loft was not sturdy and the chair had some kind of oil on it…. I’m not going to continue because it’s wasting of my time. Spent 4 nights there but didn’t bother the housekeeping because we saw housekeeping staff (yup, cleaning rooms with the doors open) throwing things around angrily, and that scared me off. Breakfast items were limited and quality was poor. Supposed to offer all day coffee. There was coffee in the afternoon when I checked in. Next day the place was empty. Checked with front desk she told me it was canceled.

THIS IS THE WORST MARRIOTT EVER! The Hotel Management is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. After reading several reviews I agree with most guest, facility gives Marriott a horrible name. I am sending the corporate office emails everyday requesting they cut ties with this "Ghetto ran dump". RUN! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! AS A LIFE PLATINNUM ELITE BONVOY MEMEBER, I WOULD RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR!!! AWFUL!!!

This is the worst Marriott hotel I've ever stayed at. A Residence Inn with a full kitchen but no dishware, cookware or utensils. Booking reservation promises housekeeping every other day, but none provided. Room smells musty. Front desk staff is wonderful, but this is all outside of their control. It used to be that a hotel had to maintain certain standards to carry a Marriott flag.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I stayed here over the weekend for my fiancés birthday and there was a used wash cloth in the shower behind the shower, tv did not work in the bedroom, and stains on the bar stool. I checked out and received my deposit back ON TIME and 4 days later I get charged for cleaning fee of $100. There was no trash in the room on either day of my stay including my check out time because I remember not being able to fit my box of pizza inside of the garbage cans outside. If the room was trashed or needed cleaning then the security deposit shouldn’t have been given back.

I was there for 2 nights and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Some of the pictures posted are exactly what I experienced on my visit. The bathroom was disgusting. Mold and rust in the shower and floor. Toilet seat broken, exhaust fan filled with cobwebs, tub filthy and drained very slowly. The stove top and oven filthy. Stains on the carpet. Bed headboard filled with sticky dust. Will never go back to that location again. What has me puzzled is if others have posted pics of the same things I have noticed, why hasn't it been corrected. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at that location.

I have visited Marriott hotels around the World, including during the COVID pandemic and never been as disappointed as this one. I booked this as a getaway stay for Memorial Day and used 2 free upgrades in my account and was really surprised with the conditions of this location. Room was dirty, no toilet paper, no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Carpet was ripped in many areas, closet doors out of place. Vents were covered with dust. Pull out couch and living room chair had many dirty spots. "Hot breakfast" was less than desirable (see the pictures). Building conditions are questionable (see pictures). To make things worst, I was hit with parking charges and the person at the front desk was not able to remove them. I spoke with the Manager and she guaranteed that a refund was issued but it may take 3 days. I am a loyal Marriott customer and even have a time share with Marriott. If you are staying in Madison Heights, there are 2 other hotels less than a mile away, Fairfield Inn and a Town Place.

Room was worn down, dirty, and outdated, we saw at least 2 mites or some kind of the same bug in the kitchen area of the suite, and they only had two sheets on the bed as covers and one fitted one on the mattress, no blankets at all in the room or on the bed. We called to ask for one but the concierge insisted he couldn’t help at all and promptly insisted we figure it out ourselves or “just turn up the thermostat.” After trying to work it out with them for quite a few minutes, hotel next door gave us a down duvet one for free because we let them know front desk for residence wouldn’t help us when we told them there were only two sheets on our bed, the guy Mike working said they didn’t have any extra sheets or blankets or anything in the entire hotel, so I guess they only have the ones in use in rotation? (If so not very sanitary lol). Nonetheless the hotel next door (Woodspring Suites) had a wonderful lady working front desk who even walked over to our hotel room at the Residence in to give us that free comforter out of pure good service and kindness. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay, save yourself the risk of a dirty room, the time, and the discomfort of no blankets and stay somewhere else. If you’re paying for a bed to sleep in, there should absolutely be blankets on the bed lol.
