First of all it is clear that this hotel is far from 5 stars. While the rooms (in fact cottages) are not bad (4/5 for me) and the hotel staff is very friendly (5/5 for me) the breakfast choice was dissatisfying (3/5 for me). The offer of fruit juices was limited to 2, while one always was watermelon and the other changed between mango and pineapple. The overall selection (fresh eggs, other English breakfast items) was o.k., but the offered variety was far from other 5 Star hotels I ever visited. There was as well a issue with small biting animals in the family pool. I don’t know whether this has been corrected after complaining because we were afterwards using the adults pool. Due to the nearby creek the beach is quite dirty and can’t be really used. There is not much nearby, so be prepared to have a drive of at least 15 minutes to Malindi restaurants. The restaurant was o.k. to good when eating á la carte but certainly not on 5 star Niveau. The prices for food and drinks were on the other hand reasonable. The evening buffet was never tempting. We were staying over New Year and the accommodation prices asked for were out of this world and in no relation to the services provided. So the hotel might be recommendable when you get good rates, you want to get a clean and quite comfortable room and want to hang out at the adult pool.

We spent 5 nights at Ocean Beach Resort and didn't want to leave! We had the most fantastic weather, although there were times when it was alarmingly hot, which meant we spent most of our midday time at the swimming pool relaxing on the extra-large and comfortable sun loungers under large shade umbrellas. The pool area is designed in such a way that it is easy to connect with other guests and families, which was a highlight for us. The hotel team deserve a very special mention: whether it was a casual lunch at the pool or the special occasion buffet dinner on New Year's Eve, there was an enormous effort made to move tables and chairs around to create different and exciting settings, all beautifully decorated. Our children just loved the huge and crystal clear pool. The pool attendants were very friendly and helpful and interacted well with all the children, providing inflatable tubes for playing on. The food was also very nicely presented and tasty, especially the buffet dinners. Some amazing and unique decorations such as a vase of 'flowers' made out of intricately carved potatoes and food colouring caught our eye. My husband is in a wheelchair and our room was very conveniently located a short distance from the main hotel buildings. The paths around and about are all wheelchair suitable and in fact the grounds in their entirety are pretty flat. All the main areas are very accessible. There was a step into the shower (which had grab rails); however, the hotel did provide a movable wooden ramp, but it was difficult to use it without assistance. Thankfully air-con in the rooms provided a welcome respite from the early January heat. The beach is expansive and quite beautiful, however it is a walk away from the hotel grounds, and there are noticeable currents pulling this way and that. We ventured out to the beach most late afternoons, which is when most others did the same. Lovely to see families, locals and tourists alike, enjoying the outdoors. I had a massage treatment at the in-house spa which was excellent. The spa room itself felt like a sanctuary. Make time for a swim in the spa pool afterwards. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely choose to stay here again. A lovely, casual and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all for the great service and the memorable stay!

It was a nice experience, the accommodation, the food was top notch. I cant forget the great services offered by the ocean beach resort team. We attic tours and Travel Ltd team enjoyed the experience to the fullest. Would highly recommend this place. Thank you.

We arrived at 9.00am from an Airbnb in watamu for the day. The welcome was superb. Our breakfast of smoked sail fish and scrambled eggs ! Awesome Pancakes for my son and fruits, great! Quality of the cappuccino and double espresso. Great too. However our woo! Was short lived when we ordered our lunch. Octopus carpaccio Zero flavour and under cooked super chewy. Avoid!. Grilled calamari, Nice size best dish. Prawn risotto , Horrible! Over cooked risotto boiled prawn topped with Parmesan cheese!!! Avoid. Pasta ragu! Edible. Fresh juices pineapple. Quality. When we questioned why the poor quality in food we were informed that the skilled chefs were on holiday. We spent an average of £120 . For a five star hotel!.. more staff training and structure required.

We checked in for a family away weekend at the end of August and took up one of the 2 bedroom apartments. I love the family set up, i was impressed to see a fully fledged kitchen in the apartment. The huge balcony with a cosy bed overlooking the pool was such a delight. I was further impressed with the many pools within the compound and close proximity to the beach. We have an amazing time. Thumbs up to the good service and excellent meals.

A beautiful place by the beach. The Spa is modern and well equipped. Great service. The staff are professional. The food is great and a wide variety. It is deal for someone looking for a quiet hide out.

Clean atmosphere. Great customer service. I had a flight late in the evening they let me hang around until time to leave for the airport. Staff were very understanding. Constantly followed up to ensure I was ok. I would definitely go back

Whats most amazing about this resort is the resort layout,the big pool and the jacuzzi. The rooms are clean,spacious and can accomodate big families. We loved seeing the owner walking around and interacting with guests. Special thanks to Sheila the waitress who tirelessly made sure we were happy despite us having issues getting a table day in day out. This lady is a gem in the property. Our housekeeper mary was so good and kept our rooms neat throughout. We enjoyed watching fireworks and the liveband on 31st dec.it was amazing. I would have given this resort a 5* were it not for the distance to the beach and the issue with table allocation. If you create a rule please stick to the rules dont make some guests feel unappreciated by how treat them.because that table allocation issue was not good at all. I will still recommend the resort.

Very quaint place with a very private beach. The spa and massage was amazing. If your looking for party night life I wouldn't recommend and the food was good but not great but otherwise the staff and cleanliness was top notch.
