We came to Mamou to enjoy a Saturday morning of live Cajun music at Fred’s Lounge and stayed across the street at the historical Hotel Cazan. This hotel was run by the wonderful Valerie and Gail who took very good care of us! We stayed in a Mardi Gras themed room and the bed was comfortable and the accommodations were nice, we had a very quiet couple of nights sleep, we even woke up with a note slipped under the door letting us know a tray with hot coffee was waiting on the other side! I’m telling all my friends to come to quaint little Mamou and stay at this cute little hotel!

Our group (of 16) will be talking about and holding on to the wonderful memories we made in Mamou for a long time, thanks mainly to the hospitality we received at Hotel Cazan. No, as hopefully you know, it is not part of a chain of hotels and they do not hold themselves to those standards, but what they DO HOLD to is being the friendliest, most accommodating little hotel that you can ever ask for. First, let me tell you to definitely put this little town on your bucket list. Driving there you will think you are in the middle of nowhere until the little twinkling lights of Mamou appear. The town is so small you have NO trouble getting around. The walk through town included a couple of "full of character" cafes and taverns. Not many tourists here, just locals that welcome you with all their deepest sincerity. Plan on being there for a Saturday morning at Fred's for Cajun music that you will never forget. Everyone in every establishment that we visited was extremely friendly. As for Hotel Cazan, their offerings were so nice. We even arranged to use their soda shop for one or gang's birthday. The staff at the Hotel helped me arrange it AND kept it a surprise as guests checked in. The rooms are small, but they are FULL of character. Valerie and Gail are the best! We will visit again! Afterall, it is about the "experience" and you won't find a more memorable one anywhere.

Love this place! Love the people! Hotel Cazan is a privately operated boutique hotel located in the small Acadian Town of Mamou, Louisiana. Cajun hospitality and charm abound. The rooms are well appointed with a full bath/shower that is newly renovated and spotless! The guest room is bright, fresh, with a most comfortable bed! Having a fridge in the room is a huge convenience. The large screen TV with Netflix is a big plus! What’s not to love about Hotel Cazan and The town of Mamou.

It was great. I booked last minute, arrived late and left early. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. It was exactly what I needed - a place to sleep - on the way into New Orleans for hurricane relief.

We evacuated out home in front of a hurricane and found this room. Drive an hour outside of our projected path to get here for the night and the hotel desk was empty. Waited around for 20+ minutes looking for someone and called the number multiple times but no answer . Finically got back on the road and drive several kite hours in middle of night with my wife and 2 children to find another place - now being told someone will contact me within 10 business days to see if I can get a refund

After booking online, we arrived at the hotel with no one to check us in. We had to end up finding a spot to park a few miles down the road and sleeping in the car. Tried to call the number that was listed on the reservation but it went straight to voicemail. Even after contacting **********, they also had no luck contacting the hotel.

Very hot bathroom, a very toe stomping at the doorway into the bath. Water spelled like sewer and had to ask for towels the next day.
