I booked 2 rooms, 4 nights via trips.com and 1 night via a credit card portal. We normally book direct with the hotel but it the 3rd party sites offered lower costs. Neither third party booking site disclosed a $3 parking fee at the time of booking. Looking at the hotel website, I also do not see a parking fee disclosure. Mankato is a relatively small town, and the location is not busy enough to justify a parking fee; charging it as a surprise/undisclosed fees (resort, parking, etc) is a dishonest practice you should abandon if you want repeat business. We were generally happy with the housekeeping, beds and room features. Issues with the TV signal and room keys were resolved by the staff in a timely manner. I chose Fairfield based on past good experience with Mariott/Residence Inn/Fairfield breakfasts in other cities. We appreciate access to a basic breakfast, and were pleased with the coffee, fruit, and bagels. However the quality of the main course (instant scrambled eggs and so-called "omelettes") was disappointing. Yogurts were exclusively fat-free (chalky taste) in a padlocked at 9am sharp. Sausage patties (frozen/warmed) were in short supply and also not appetizing. For the room rate we paid, we hoped for a better breakfast.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and accommodating. Only inconveniences we had were having to get the keys reset a few times and the toilet ran. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Had everything we needed.

The room was excellent and had everything you would expect and the shower was perfect. The bed was a solid 6.5/10 does the job but definitly not the greatest ever. Now my biggest negative is everyone was bragging about the breakfast in the other reviews. I will however say although it has a decent option of eggs, sausage and waffle makers along with yogurt, fruit and drink options it is not amazing. The eggs look like they are swimming in a pool of water and do not taste amazing going down. The sausages also look like they have been sitting boiling in a pool of water to keep them warm and its off putting. Both tasted good one day but tasted off the next. The drink options are plentiful though and the waffle maker is perfect so id give breakfast a 5/10 at best. Would maybe stay again

Breakfast was delicious. Our toilet handle was a little off in that we had to hold it for a minute for it to flush completely. Carpet was clean

Breakfast was less than expected. But, the manager or employee who helped us went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, nice breakfast variety, only complaint the eggs were a little cold. Pleasant decor but showing a little wear.

Breakfast was great. Lots of choices! Coffee was good. The only problem was that there was no full curtain on the window and that let a big spotlight shine into the room. You should supply sleep masks for people in such rooms. Luckily we had ours with us.

Room was comfortable and very nice. Staff were great. Breakfast was great.

Pool was freezing. They ran out of breakfast items by 8am.
