Très bon séjour à Mayas beach house. L’hôte est très sympathique et accueillant. Les repas étaient excellents.

Wij zijn erg tevreden over ons verblijf in Maya’s Beach House in Mararikulam. Vanaf het eerste moment voelden we ons welkom dankzij het warme en persoonlijke ontvangst. De bediening en de staff zijn uitzonderlijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam en doen er alles aan om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Het ontbijt was overheerlijk, vers bereid en met veel zorg geserveerd. Het verblijf is zeer rustig gelegen, een ideale plek om volledig tot rust te komen, en bovendien vlak bij het strand. Perfect voor wie houdt van stilte, natuur en ontspanning. De eigenaar, Kishore, is altijd bereikbaar en betrokken. Hij verzorgde persoonlijk het ontvangst en het ontbijt, wat het verblijf een extra persoonlijke en warme toets gaf. Kortom: een fantastische ervaring op alle vlakken. Wij zullen hier zeker ooit nog naar terugkomen en kunnen Maya’s Beach House alleen maar aanraden!

Nice location for access to the beach. Host was super helpful and kind. All facilities were clean and cared for.

This place doesn't give a commercial corporate feel. It rather gives a homely local vibe. It feels as though u r staying at a local friends house but with no intrusions. Place is not plush but has all basic amenities. The bathroom has a open roof concept. Rest of the room is spacious and well lit. It is quiet and green and we hear sounds of birds all around. The place also has plunge pool...good for kids... about 3-3.5 feet deep. Food is exceptional. One has to pre order the food. And it takes a bit of time to prepare. But then everything is fresh and yummilicious. We enjoyed every meal that we had. Kishore ji gave us v good suggestions and we enjoyed each bite of local menu. Beach is nearby. We could reach in less than 5 min with kids. Beach is clean and sparsely populated. We enjoyed all lot with kids. Overall strongly recommend this place. We stayed for a night as family friends but would have loved to stay a week

Great place to end our epic India trip (stayed 6 nights). Extremely peaceful and private place to unwind. Only four rooms and we had the upstairs room with a balcony. Sure it's a little bit tired and needs a bit of updating but it was clean and perfect for our needs. The small pool was nice to cool off in too. Krish (and his team) were wonderful and kind and he was a very attentive host, nothing was too much trouble. He can literally arrange anything, money exchange, food (excellent), beers, massages (great recommendation), tuktuks etc. The location is great, 5 to 10 mins walk to the beach, turn right at the end of the lane and you'll find a long beautiful beach with sunbeds and beach shacks. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we are fortunate to visit Kerala again. Thanks Krish and your team for a very memorable end to our holiday

Alleppey was the second location in my recent Kerala trip. Initially I had book a backwaters resort (Backwaters alleppey resort) but then I did some research and understood that if I were to explore beach as well then it will be quiet far from it. So i searched Mayas beach house with an intention that I will get such a close access to the beach and one day I will take a Shikara ride from the Finishing point. However, things didn't go as planned. I checked in here in the afternoon and checked out after 1 hours because of the following reasons: The reviews about this property made me choose it but I dont know this property has such reviews. Here is my point of view: 1. The only truth about the reviews is goodness of the owner, Mr. Kishore who was kind and gentle and ready to help us in every single way. He got the lunch prepared for us and that too dal chawal which we requested. Mr. Kishore helped me in booking the Shikara ride at a pretty reasonable rate. 2. We first checked in to the ground floor room and it was not smelling well, it was not properly maintained, furniture was in not so condition. It had an open space in the bathroom and there were ants, earthworms, and other insects. I was with my 2.5 yr old kid and I can't tolerate this. It was risky for us. We then shifted to the 1st floor room. 3. The stairs to the 1st floor were steep and it was not comfortable to carry the luggage. One needs to be extra careful. This bathroom has a lizard and the bathroom fitting (mixer of cold and hot water) was not working properly. The furniture was same as the room before and was not in good condition. The bed was also of small size (queen size) 4. We thought may be the beach will take away this frustration but it added more. Although it was 2-3 mins walk but it was a fisherman area beach, smelly with not so pleasent odour and no one around. We didnt stay there more than 5 mins. 5. The property had no other guest that day and for every single thing, we had to disturb Mr. Kishore as he is the one *** army here. Although he will never say No to anything but you expect some staff to be there. 6. I somehow felt skeptical about the security as well with my 2.5 year old kid with me since there was no one else there. The kitchen staff will only come at specific time. I ended up checking out that very same time, Mr. Kishore was kind enough to refund 2K out of the amount that I paid. And then I booked Ramada Hotel, near the Finishing point and it was the best decision I took. 7. On the google map you will see other cool resorts but they are on the parallel road. On this road there are no other resorts, infact you may find yourself in the middle of nowhere. And that feeling is not good at all when you land there. This property has minimum to no facilities and it is charged quiet high.

This is a gem of a place, made wonderful by the kind & attentive service of Kish, the owner. He’s so helpful, nothing is too much bother. It’s a very short walk to the beautiful beach. The villa is great, rooms well furnished & lovely (We found the bed to be on the hard side, but that’s a very personal thing & Kish gave us an extra mattress to soften it) The garden is wonderful & neat. Sit on your verandas & watch the sky turn pink in the evening. The open dining room is perfect. The food served is tailored to your tastes & really excellent. Delicious juices. We ate here every night of our stay. An excellent place.

"Home away from home" - This feeling sets it apart from 5 star hotel stays.. Kishore, the host, is excellent as every review mentions. Friendly, caring and helpful and always available during the stay. Food and other facilities will be amended to your choice to make your stay comfortable. Pros: Food was lovely (especially south indian). Beach is just 5min away. I checked it. Just 5min if you walk normally. Don't let other reviews misguide you if it says it's longer Beach is neat. No one there bother you. Cons: Away from city. So if you want to stay in/near city don't come here. Its a small town with houses and shops nearby. Plan your transport. Else Kishore will be happy to help I will visit again if I decide to visit Alleppey. Thanks Kishore again!
