The room was a bit dated with net curtains that had holes in it. There was no tea making facilities other than a drip coffee machine and the breakfast was certainly not designed for westerners. There were no pastries and the layout with cereal at one end and milk at the other, one toaster that at best warms the bread and the other that works, although one member of staff for some unexplainable reason had to come and show me how to use it when I was already using it and ejected my toast, only to put it back in again. The location of the hotel was pretty good and I would stay again but I would hope they are a little better preparing breakfast for those of us who are not Japanese.
This is one of the smaller properties in the Dormy Inn chain. That being said it still has the spa and leashing machines, varied breakfast buffet, late night ramen noodles and good service. There was a loud whistle coming from bad seals in the windows in our rooms and they upgraded us to twins immediately. It was the off season but we felt very well looked after. The location is a short walk from the station and well located.
Shiatsu massage after 5-hour hike to Tokuzawa and the therapist Kusanagi-san was amazing.
