Booked this hotel online and then called to ask a couple of questions. Never mentioned they were doing renovations which would be happening the ENTIRE DAY for my entire stay; just outside of my window. I asked to change rooms but they could not accommodate. I specifically needed a hotel room to have a private daytime work space for (remote) HIPAA-sensitive work. Due to the noise and incessant beeping of a crane rolling around outside my window, I could not accomplish either of these. Unbelievable that they just didn't have another room to move me to (when I was told they had several rooms because a sports group would be leaving day prior to my visit). The manager at the desk noted "you were really stressed out about the noise, huh?". Yes. Yes I was. It prevented me from doing what I was paying to be there to do, which was work. Also, manager "wished" she could give me some money back on my reservation, but 'since you booked through ******* we can't do that'. As well, there was significant evidence of mold in the bathroom of room 212. And my hotel phone rang at juuust before 3 am both days I was there. One ring. Enough to wake me up for the day. They said they were having 'some other trouble' with the phones and would mention it to the phone company. All-around a non-productive, inconvenient, frustrating and expensive stay.
