索拉納温泉飯店(Solana Hotel & Spa)

An enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right. All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.

Because we discovered after check in, in the following morning, this hotel was located right beside the construction site, our stay resulted in an unrelaxed one - nightmare, due to the big noises and powerful vibrations through the floors & walls of our room, from very early morning till late. Trip customer service staff were friendly and tried to help us but the hotel manager was untruthful by refusing to admit the poor quality of our stay. She said the hotel management was not to be responsible for the noises and it was out of their control although there were plenty of vacant rooms on the other side of the hotel buildings, which were supposed to be less affected by the construction, activities, but it seemed that we booked through Trip.com at a competitive price and our room was allocated in the most affected section of the hotel building. Rooms and other facilities were dusty due to the construction activities.

Sehr schön und großzügig eingerichtetes Zimmer. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und konnte bei allen aufkommenden Fragen weiterhelfen. Der Preis ist für das was man bekommt definitiv gerechtfertigt.

Gros chantier coller à l’hôtel qui commence a 7h du matin à la disqueuse et aux marteaux burin qui fait trembler tous les murs , la baignoire était fendu en deux impossible de prendre un bain , le frigo complètements givrer qui fessait un bruit infernale obliger de le débrancher , la chasse d’eaux casser , heureusement que nous somme rester que une nuit…

Amazing luxury suite room! With complimentary water, wine and fruits. The view of the city and sea from the room was great. The terrace was huge! We had a dinner at one of the hotel restaurants and enjoyed it a lot, had a couple massage at nataraya spa done by anoop and Paulina - it was very relaxing. One of the best massages I have had so far! The rooftop pool is a plus, however it was really hard to find a spot to lie down as it was full of people, we ended up spending our afternoon sitting in a chair rather than actually sunbathing. Overall, great experience!

I really wanted to like this property,as it was a pleasant check in,reception was very good and initial impressions of the hotel were very good..However the room left alot to be desired,at first glance it looked great with a pretty good cooking area with enough utensils,the bed was pretty comfortable for my liking,however the bathroom smelt musty most of the time,the shower head leaked at the bottom abit so the pressure wasnt that great,the handle on the side of the bath was a bit loose and would probably break if someone put any weight on it and the tub had visible signs of ŕepair.The main room was a good size with plenty of seating,however one of the wardrobe doors will probably fall off with the next guest as its REALLY loose,the external handle on the balcony door was loose.Entertainment wise there was like 7 maybe 8 channels on the tv and the wifi in room was horrendous by todays standards to be fair they only use the words "surf the web" with their free Internet claim but it was difficult just getting a signal in the room,it was possibly to stream a bit of netflix on a good day and then finally the housekeeping that would leave balcony door unlocked which wouldn't be an issue if you didnt share the same space with 2 other rooms!They even managed to not close my room door properly on on one day,however nothing happened and i was using the safe so i didn't make an issue of it.Anoher thing was the door to the adjoining room offered NO sound protection at all very noisy.

Globalement l'hôtel en lui même est médiocre mais ce n'est pas le pire. A votre arrivée, on vous propose d'avoir une chambre supérieure pour 35 euros de plus par nuit. La réalité c'est qu'il y a des travaux d'un côté de l'hotel (qui démarre à 6h00 du matin) et si vous ne prenez pas la chambre "supérieur" vous "dormez" à côté des travaux. Mais ça ne s'arrête pas la, il y a des coupures d'électricité la nuit avec redémarrage de tous les équipements dans la chambre, je vous conseille vivement les boules quies et un masque pour dormir... Enfin, j'ai été victime d'un vol dans ma chambre fermée durant mon séjour dans cet hôtel (d'une valeur de 200 euros) et rien n'a été fait. ils ont refusé de nous montré les caméras et à chaque fois qu'on réclamait à rencontrer des personnes responsables, on nous disait qu'elle serait de retour après la date de notre départ (quel heureux hasard). Et une fois rentré en france, on nous conseille de contacter la police de malte.... Enfin, je ne parlerai pas de la propreté qui est limite et de la mauvaise insonorisation de l'hôtel. Nous entendions la musique de la reception depuis notre chambre... Si vous souhaitez passer de très mauvaises vacances, c'est l'hôtel idéal.

Tragic experience! It was my birthday! I had booked the room over a month and asked for the penthouse with 2 single beds. They gave us a double room and there was NO way to change it since they were full booked (12th May! as if). The whole customer experience was tragic. Once we checked in and saw that the room was not what we paid for, we called the reception. They said they would look at it and get back to us. 3 h later nothing! We called them again and said we cannot do anything! We had half board and went to eat, we ordered extra wine. They asked our room to charge and gave us a receipt. After we finished we left. Next morning during breakfast they stopped us and said you cannot have breakfast unless we settle the bill from last night! This happened in front of other guests! We replied we have the receipt you have our room number charge it there! NO, we have to get paid now! Customer service ZERO Besides that, the room was very spacious, the balcony was huge, but the view was bad. A construction warzone.As for the room there was mould everywhere and we had to sleep with the windows opened due to the smell! The doors were funny! Attached fotos
