From Mahon Airport, bus L10 is a quick ride to bus station. Short walk to this modern 4* eco-aware hotel. Friendly welcome, comfortable quiet room with free coffee/tea, water refill, Wi-Fi etc. Very good buffet breakfast; and there's a lounge with complimentary beer & wine plus free snacks from 3pm. Pleasant stroll to main sites in the old town and you can even walk to one of the ancient Talayotic sites, Trepuco, which is free to visit. With the bus station so near the hotel, it's easy to take a day trip to former capital Ciutadella or nearby ex-garrison town Es Castell. Plenty of eateries in Mahon, and there's even a gin distillery with wide variety to sample.

Initially I was in a room which was extremely cramped (I am a slim person and had trouble moving between the bed and the desk), the A/C did not work, the fan did not work, the seal on the glass door did not work - which flooded the bathroom, the vent in the bathroom did not work. After having to plead with the front desk staff for a different room and bring up the website which says that there are A/C and working fans, which was initially dismissed by the staff, I was moved to a different room which had all of the same issues except the fan in this room did work. Unfortunately the new room did not have any outdoor space and the vent for my room was located next to the plumbing for what I can only assume was the entire hotel because the sound of water moving was constant. I was informed by the staff that the A/C was not turned on - so that was an outright lie in advertising; then told by the staff to open my window if I wanted cooler air; when I opened my window while taking a shower, about 45 bugs entered my room and were on the ceiling so I was not able to kill them and had to have them in my room for the rest of my stay. On top of all of this, I had a stay with 2 rooms for a total of 17 nights and the staff would not give me any bottles of water that are part of the rewards program. I was point blank told by the staff that if I checked out and checked back in that I could then have the water, as it would only be rewarded during my next stay, but not during.

What an amazing hotel. Visited Mahon with my friend in late September, we had a room with large terrace. The room was perfect with comfy bed, fabulous shower, toiletries and mini bar. Lovely evenings on the terrace enjoying a gin and tonic. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, sitting by the garden and pool. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is centrally located to shops and bars, the harbour and a fabulous bus service!! We went to binibeca, es castell and son bou for afew euros, it is really such a lovely island. We loved it so much we have booked to stay at casa ladico next year… can’t wait!! We have just returned from two glorious weeks at this lovely hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the start of the estuary and the Isle de Rei. The morning sunrise was just fabulous! I had read before my visit that although the walk-in showers had been completed, the rooms themselves needed a refurbish. Well the bathroom is lovely. You have shampoo, bath wash and gorgeous body milk. Beautiful shower area. Such a delight! Yes, the rooms are looking well worn, but my only criticism would be lack of drawer space. If you are staying for two weeks it can be tricky to keep your clothes ‘tidy’ all piled up in the wardrobe. The hotel is blessed with the most wonderful happy staff! Thank you to all we met who enhanced our stay with their positive attitude. Special mention has to go though to Harold at the bar. A true professional! His cocktails never disappointed ! The food in the dining room was really good when we arrived. Lots of choice and of a very good quality. Towards the end of our stay, when numbers dwindled, there was still a great display of Menorcan foods, meats and cheeses. The soup was divine, and the different breads just lovely. Salads were plentiful and varied, and the puddings were scrumptious! There was still always something tasty and different to choose every evening. The chefs were continually checking the food and replacing it when necessary. Cleo and Alexander were great hosts. There was low key entertainment twice a week. Good singers, and we particularly loved the jazz trio on the last evening. They put their own take on many popular songs and did it very well. Es Castell is full of history, and we enjoyed visiting Mahon. You can either walk for about 15 to 20 mins, or catch a bus into the station. From here you can use the buses to visit other places very easily. Or walk down into the town and take in all the sights! There is a fish market and attached to it an area which does tapas and all different kinds fishy snacks. On our last Saturday there was music and it made for a lovely atmosphere. Would we return to the Agamemon? Certainly we will! The views are a delight, always something different going on.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the accommodation, it was clean and great location and in the weeks stay we had towel and bedding change done 3 times which was very much appreciated. The location was a little noisy until about midnight, probably wouldn't be an issue for most people but with a young child we were in bed by 9ish most nights, luckily my little one slept brilliantly and after the first night I just used my headphones as ear plugs and had a great night's sleep every night. On the subject of noise....the walls are very thin and noise does travel. We did have a very noisy neighbour on the 1st day, who were a little noisy during their affectionate times, slightly awkward and just something to be aware of if you're going as a couple! The pool area was great, perfect for a little one as it is very shallow and we had the area completely to ourselves every day, also free WiFi in this area for guests. The beds were much bigger than the standard single you usually get, I'd say 3/4 size and comfortable. Yes the rooms were a little dated, but for the price for better than I was expecting. Completely functional and clean. There was a ceiling fan and little electrical heater supplied which really heated the space up. Even in 43+ degrees the room was pleasantly cool. Good sized fridge, only hot plates and microwave though for cooking but lovely local restaurants literally a 30 second walk away. Lovely pleasant staff, really friendly and helpful Felt very safe and welcome in this beautiful corner of menorca
