I just got back from a 5 night stay in this hotel as part of a business meeting which was held at the Convention Center. Pros 1. The location -- Less than 2 blocks from the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the Convention Center. 2. I had a suite which was very large and had everything I could want for my stay 3. Bed is very comfortable and large. Plenty of pillows 4. Pull out couch wasn't needed in my case but a nice feature for additional guests 5. The kitchen was great as I bought drinks at CVS (much less expensive) and had a full size refrigerator. Same with leftovers that could be heated up. 6. Wifi was good 7. Bathroom was huge with a walk in shower, double sinks, and a nice soak tub 8. Products like shampoo were ample and lots of fluffy towels 9. Multiple closets so lots of room for clothes Cons 1. Breakfast was a waste as it did not open until 8:00 and most business meetings started well before then. The hotel should open breakfast earlier expecially given its proximity to the convention center. 2. Front desk staff were not friendly and sometimes not at the desk. When I checked in I know it was 10:00 PM but I had to get my meeting planner on the phone as the woman tried to charge me when this was on a masterbill. Once the head of our office spoke to her, her tune changed. My card was run for incidentals and it quickly came off my credit card after check out. When I tried to check out it was 7:15 and nobody at the desk. I waited for 5 minutes then I went to see if I could find someone. I spoke to someone in the resturant and then walked back to the desk. I was going to be late for my first meeting so I opened the curtain and put my bag in and had just started writing a note when the lady came back and told me I could not be back there and when I explained I had been waiting about 15 minutes she got upset and told me she was allowed to go to the bathroom. I just handed in my key, got a luggage receipt from the nice guy who drove the golf cart and he offered to take me to the convention center. Overall, it was a nice stay and a lovely but the two ladies I dealt with at the front desk at check in and check out and how long it took impacted my overall impression and rating.
AAndreAlthough the hotel is quite new with modern facilities, it is worn down, especially furniture on the rooftop.
The room was quite small, windows dirty and on the half 4th floor young students who partied with music, telco in the hallway, smashing doors at 4am.
Fitness room and pools too small.
Serena Rest/bar quite good.
Staff is top.
CCiccioPasticcioVery basic, fairly clean, in a pretty good location to access the beach. No food, but you get (loud) fridge and microwave in the room. Showers are installed very low, I'm 173 cm and struggled with it (you can take the head off, but it's annoying); decor in general could do with a refresh (some stained curtains). Disappointingly it has no free parking (they ”failed to update” this detail on the booking site I used, sigh), you have to use the big public car park nearby (and if your credit card is not from North America you can't use the website to pay for it, which you must do from 8am to 6pm). The receptionist / factotum is a bit of a character, a young lady whose customer skills are a bit on the ”french” side; she's not actually on site outside of office hours, but can be reached by phone or whatsapp. Security relies on codes, so you better remember to cover your hand as you key in. On saturday night someone was blasting music in their room until late in the evening. The beach is a 5 min walk away, barely a block. There are shops and mostly-average restaurants very close by (cafe on the opposite corner is actually pretty nice). There is a small event arena right around the corner, so any event there will likely impact on your sleep; but then again, you don't come to Miami Beach to sleep, do you?
The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The day we arrived (Oct. 8th) the room wasn’t properly cleaned. The countertops and stove in the kitchen had not been cleaned. As we continued to get settled into the room we hear the air conditioned come on. OMG!! The air-conditioning unit in the room was so loud it sounded like an industrial engine in a factory. It woke us up every night so needless to say we didn’t get much sleep. To add insult to injury, while trying to sleep I felt something on my head. Thinking it was a roach I jumped up and turned on the lights only to realize it was the “pleather” headboard that was peeling and falling on my head. The worst part about it all was the lack of response from the hotel staff including the Manager, Jose Pita. I immediately addressed my concerns with the front desk clerk the night we arrived and asked for another room as this room was not satisfactory at all. The receptionist proceeds to tell me that she couldn’t help me and that I would need to speak with someone in the morning. I waited until the following morning to address my concerns with the next person on duty. That young lady (Ruth) was the only pleasant person at the hotel. She stated she would have someone check out the AC unit in our room and if it couldn’t be repaired she would move us to another room. I explained we would be out the entire day and would return around 5pm that afternoon which she replied, “no problem”. As we returned from our day of exploring Miami I approached the young lady at the desk (her name was Hynah) to inform her of the conversation I had with Ruth and she proceeds to tell me that they would not be moving our room as Ruth had stated. She said “All the AC units sound like that”. When I asked to speak to the Manager she told me he wasn’t there so I asked for his email address. I sent the Manager (Jose Pita) a lengthy email detailing my experience in an effort to see if he could resolve the issues at hand for a paying customer. I never received a response from Mr. Pita. As someone who is a Corporate Exec in the hospitality industry and stays at hotels 150+ nights a year across the gulf south region this was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. If I could give this a ZERO I would. I am going to make sure I let all of my colleagues and contacts know never to stay at this hotel EVER!!
MMoon MWe work hard, but we also know how to relax. Our hard-working team has arrived from Chicago to this beautiful hotel in Miami and we are happy to be here. It's a great place to have a good time. The service is top notch, the music, the pool, we loved it all. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a good vacation. 5 stars. We will be happy to visit you again. 6 stars for the employees who are engaged in registration and settlement of people and their rooms.
