Five star almost all the time, they do a big public event on July 4 and it’s way too crowded and crazy, otherwise amazing. (45 minute wait to seat two at the bar, then an hour wait for pizza and a salad)

Overall, our experience at the resort was good but not great. Our favorite part of our stay was the spa, complimentary car service to and from some wineries, as well as the town of Middleburg. I also enjoyed playing scrabble in the library.

The property is just so expensive to first book and stay at and then there is almost nothing included in the putreagous price

When I arrived I was very happy that the room was already available and it was before noon. I was however disappointed to learn that the room I reserved did not have a fireplace. On the website the picture shows a fireplace for the room type I selected. When I asked what the room cost would be if I switched I was told it would be over $1,000 but since my room was already $900 it was’t much of a difference to me but there was no attempt to upsell or offer a different room. I just moved on and instead asked if I could have a late check out of 4pm. She said yes of course it’s automatic because I reserved with AMEX but I reserved through ******* which she confirmed. I ended up getting locked out of my room at around 2:30 so when I went to the desk I was surprised to learn there was no record of my 4:00 pm request and they said I would be charged a half day rate for the extra time. I explained my checkin conversation but after speaking to a manager he said they were not able to honor it and if I stayed longer I would have to pay. I decided to immediately check out. At that time I informed the desk that the TV in the room was not working (sound in and out) and they may want to get it checked for the next guest. It was in the middle of the night when I was watching TV and I didn’t feel like going through the hassle to call the desk when I was already in bed. Outside of this I really enjoyed the facility and the conference I attended.
