It was a warm welcome we received after a long day on the canal. Excellent locally brewed beer although not on the premises. We arrived on quiz night. Readily welcomed into one of the teams but we didn’t really help their effort. This is a proper no nonsense tradition local pub. No food beyond crisps and nuts and better for it. Long may their hard work be rewarded. And a big thank you from my wife for the box of chocolates from one of our quiz team members

Worst bed I have ever slept in, the springs were coming through the mattress, the heating didn’t work and there was one shower/toilet shared between all rooms, the shower head was held on with zip ties. Me and my colleagues had not booked this it was booked by someone else, if we had know how bad it was going to be we would have got a primer inn or travel lodge. The lady that greeted us was nice enough but the place was outdated and in need of updating
