海灘酒店(The Beach Hotel)

The rooms were decent, however a few stains on the bedding and curtains and black mold on the window edges. Stains on the carpet too. I stayed in the suite and two others stayed in a 2x single bed room. They said the mattresses were hard to sleep on, not soft at all. Additionally, there was an incident downstairs in the lobby, in which we were sorting through our belongings and amongst them were sanitary towels. The receptionist ran off to go around the bar and were whispering and giggling with the bartender girls while looking at our family. Very immature, and made us feel uncomfortable about something that is entirely normal for women. One of my family members was especially affected because they have autism, and the reaction from the staff made them feel embarrassed and very uncomfortable. That was the only really bad part of the experience. The breakfast is decent, hashbrowns were a bit solid and burnt but other than that very good. There was an older woman, a member of staff who was very lovely and helpful towards the end of our stay however, so thank you very much.

My room had an excellent Seaview and overlooked the West Somerset Railway. Close to the local bus stop. The Bathroom could be improved by installing a grab rail, on the wall about 24" above the bath edge. I found it difficult to to control the shower temperature. The management could consider installing thermostat controlled taps etc. It could also help the environment by usi g less water and energy. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

The Beach Hotel is virtually on the station platform. To wake up to smell of the steam form the engines. No smoke in your room! They are not noisy as they dont start up early morning or late at night. Every thing is within walking distant or mobility scooter. The Beach hotel has no lift. Rooms are easy to scooter around. The food is fantastic no faults at all. It is run by the YMCA offering homeless people, people with Autism and special needs, they get a chance to earn hospitality skills to enable them to work in the wider places. Such a good place to start a holiday.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely feel to the bar and restaurant with a coastal theme. Bedroom was spacious and clean. Delicious food in the restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately my colleague was given a room that was not cleaned, towels on the floor, bed linens slept in etc etc, he was quite upset as knowing it was nit clean meant he doubl washed his hands.

So recommendable. We traveled for 13 days around the south of England, Here we had the nicest room and a supremely breakfast. So many stars from here:-)

Good property and overall positive. Only negative is beds could use some upgrading. Perhaps some added padding to make them more comfortable
