The breakfast is wonderful, as is the breakfast manager and crew. The hotel is clean, there is cold lemon water and hot cocoa/tea/coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. The staff is OK, not overly friendly or helpful. Pool is refreshing, plenty of towels available. Housekeeping missed our room one day, leaving us both surprised and annoyed after returning from a long day on the river. No fresh towels, toiletries, unmade bed, floor that needed to be swept or vacuumed, etc. When I asked the front desk to please have housekeeping come the girl said they were gone for the day, and barely even apologized. Then I asked if we could get some fresh towels, shampoo and conditioner, and a bar of soap. She said she’d bring it up to the room. Fifteen minutes later I went back downstairs and told someone else at the front desk I was heading out to the pool, and that another staff member was supposed to bring us towels. He he let me know she was gone, but that he would drop some off in our room. The other issue was when we were checking in. The gentleman at the front desk wanted to show me the room before we accepted, which was rather cryptic. We walked to the room we reserved (a standard two queen bedroom), which he opened for us to inspect. It reeked of *********. We declined and were offered a one king bed bedroom, which was less than ideal for me and my two daughters, but all they had. This along with the poor customer service and missed housekeeping service really disappointed me.
